Charlotte NC which airline for cheap/direct flight?

I'm trying to get my mother to join me for a trip to WDW in May. She lives in Charlotte. I fly SWA but see it doesn't serve Charlotte. Which airlines have the cheapest direct flights from Charlotte to MCO?

Charlotte is dominated by USAirways so I doubt you will find any cheap fares to Orlando.

Despite being dominated by US Airways, you can still get very cheap fares between Charlotte and Orlando. I just did a quick search and found fares in the $230 rt range for May.

I have gotten fares from CLT for less than that. Son used to live in CLT so used to watch fares from there quite a bit.

Disnutt, have you checked Airtran? I see on their website they do have direct flights from Charlotte to Orlando, although the quick searches I've done have only found flights with layovers in Atlanta. There may be something available direct on your dates, though.

Even a layover in ATL won't be bad with Airtran. Unless things have changed, Airtran has all their flights out of the same concourse (C, I believe), so she wouldn't have to worry about getting from one concourse to another.

We have found AIr Tran to be the cheapest but you do have a lay over ususally in Atlanta.

The only other choice we have found is to drive to Raleigh and get SW out of there.

My mother refuses the layover thing. She gets anxious so it has to be one plane. I'll keep watching the Airtran site though. I'll also see if she's willing to drive to Raleigh.

Southwest has great DING fares out of Raleigh...have recently seen Jan-Feb dates for as low as $65 ROUND TRIP! I once booked a flight for my parents who live in the Charlotte area and their flight out of Charlotte to Orlando on US AIR was the second leg of a flight out of Raleigh and was about $100 more expensive than flying the whole route from Raleigh...go figure! Southwest sure keeps fares out of Raleigh low!
