Christmastime is here...

(Oh yeah, and I'm going to WDW next Sunday. But first, Charlie Brown!!)

Happy Holidays everyone!!

I have to look at the every year.

I know I am in the minority but I don't like Charlie Brown. The poor kid never gets a break. I stopped reading the comic years ago because it was just too depressing. Couldn't Shultz have let him kick that football just once?

I also think that Charlie Brown is bullied in some of those strips.

I love it, but it's just not the same without those "brought to you by Dolly Madison" segues to the commercials.

And marybet, what you're talking about was what made the Charlie Brown character so personally identifiable to the readers. We could relate to what happened to him.

I've always liked Linus reciting the Christmas story from Luke the best. It's so simple, beautiful, and to the point. The school auditorium's house looks exactly like my school's. We had those exact light fixtures.

I forgot about the Dolly Madison sponsorship. Now that you mention it, I can hear it clearly.

There are only 3 television shows I must see every year -- The Jerry Lewis Telethon on Labor Day Weekend (even if only for 5 minutes),It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown in October and A Charlie Brown Christmas. Too bad they are all within a period of 3 months; makes the rest of the year boring! :happytv:

If nothing else, it shows that I am a child of the 60's.

Ah...those were the days. Growing up with the Charlie Brown holiday specials. :teeth:

I try not to miss any of the Christmas specials especially Peanuts. ;)

I love this show. Especially the dance scene!

Me too!! It was a big deal in my house when I was growing up, like it was unthinkable to not stop everything and watch A Charlie Brown Christmas. It wasn't Christmas until that show was on!

I've seen Rudolph already this year so if I catch Charlie Brown this week, all I need is the Grinch for my Christmas spirit to be fully here!

I missed Rudolph??? :sad1: Do you think they'll rebroadcast it?

Someone asked me why I don't buy the DVDs. Because it's not the same! You have to watch these on broadcast television for it to be officially December!
