A couple of questions about charging to your room:

1-Can you charge food to your room-snacks, QS, TS?

My DS17 and DD16 may be off on their own and Was wondering if they could charge their meals to the room.

2-Can you use Disney gift cards to pay for room charges? Can you set up the room charges using a gift card?

They will have a limit (that you can set) for your kids. My daughter loved the experience of being able to shop for herself and have things delivered to the resort.

Yes to both. Also make sure the teens have 20.00 or so just in case the charging doesn't work.

We ran into that because we were at our limit for charging and the system was down so the resort couldn't run the charges through to get us back to zero.

I had given the teens 20.00 each of just in case money so they were able to buy their dinner at the resort food court while my husband and I had dinner at Epcot.
We also had to use a regular charge card that night instead of our room key to pay for dinner. Luckily I always carry one.

You can pay off the charges with a Disney Gift card but you will still need to link a credit card to your room in order to do charging. That way Disney is covered if you spend more than you have on the gift card. (Same thing goes for Cash)

Also make sure your kids cards are valid for charging when you check in at the resort.

Yes, for meals, but like the idea of putting 20 bucks in their pocket. Some kiosks may not be set up for the charging and they may want to grab a quick water bottle or snack.
