Charging to your resort room

Can you charge from all of the parks for your purchases in WDW? Also, can you use a room charge from Downtown Disney? (For dining and retail purchases?)

If I prepay my room, how do I charge? Do I just have to leave an imprint of my card?

Hi,

When you check in just tell them that you want to have charging privilages on your room keys. Give them the card that you want everything charged to. They swipe it and then give it back to you. You can then use your room key like a charge card in all of the parks, resorts and Downtown Disney.

I am not 100% sure if you can use it at the Swan/Dolphin or at JellyRolls but other then those places everywhere else is a go. Also, there are some stand alone carts in the parks that do not have electric cash registers so they do not take credit cards of any type.

This was one of favorite things last year - our first time staying onsite. We never had to really worry about how much cash we had. And we would go down every morning and pay off with Travelors checks what we had charged the day before !!

The only room key charging priveledges at the Swan / Dolphin are for items purchased there. You can have merchandise delivered to the Swan or Dolphin Bell Desk from the different parks/DTD, but you can't charge it to your room key. At least we couldn't when we stayed there in July.

Hi Kitster,

I am assuming you are referring to my post. I know what you outlined about but my question was different.

The question is if you are staying at a WDW resort let's say the YC. If you go over to the S/D for dinner can you charge that dinner back to your room using your room key from the YC? We did this once but I cannot remember if we could use our room key or if we had to use a "real" credit card.
