Is there a limit on how much you can charge to your room? The stuff you charge is it just sounvenirs or is it everything like food too? And can you all ready load the card with maybe like $200. let me know experts.

I'm not sure about the other resorts but in the Deluxes we have been given a limit of $1500 and then they run the card and it goes back to zero balance. You can charge food, services from the spas and items from the shops

If you want you could give them cash and make your limit whatever you like, I usually give them about 1000 in cash at check in, I really hate to come home from a trip and have a credit card bill to deal with, I would rather pay for everything up front and not worry about how much Im spending.

I would never carry 1000 in cash. Having had my wallet stolen (not at WDW) I learned the lesson everything is replaceable except the cash. If you have the money just leave in your bank to pay the bill when you get home.

Room charge limits are as follows:

Value Resorts $500
Moderates $1000
Deluxe & DVC $1500

Once you reach that limit your room charges will be declined until you speak to the front desk and you either pay it off or have them run the chrges through to your CC. Then a new line of credit with the above limits open up.

Since I have never been before this may be a silly question..... So you can charge anything and everything (within your limit) to your room key at any park, eatery or store in the World???

I second this question. . .can you walk around the park and "buy" stuff with your room key? Meals, souveneirs, etc? If so, that's pretty cool.

Yes, you can charge "just about" everything...there are some of the little vendor carts that aren't equipped to let you charge to your room, and the restaurants at DTD aren't actually owned by Disney, so you probably can't charge to your room there, but everything else should be fair game.

Happy spending :rotfl:

You can charge anything in WDW to your room (with the exception of some of the small concession food carts.)
You can also have purchases delivered to your hotel or to the front of the park where your purchase was made for pickup on your way out.
I have also eaten at numerous restuarants in DD and charged back to my room.

I didnt know you could give them cash! Thats good to know. We always carry our cash and worry about losing it!

What if you lose your room card? Can someone else use it? Will they replace it? Is your money insured somehow?

I always leave my Debit card with them. I know how much I have in my account and don't have to worry about the interest thing. They also give you an itemized statement at checkout that helps you and will go over it with you at the desk if you desire. It usually comes out of my account about 2-3 days after our return.

I was asked for my ID. I was thankful for that, because I'd hate to think that if I lost my key card someone else could use up all my credit! It sure is nice to only have to bring my key card and ID, I left my wallet in the safe in the room. When we check out, I have yet to have any errors on our charges. I really like the ease of charging to our room! Some people are mistaking credit card use for credit card debt. If you spend within your budget, it is an awesome perk! :earsboy:

Thanks for all this information guys!!! This will be good to know when we go in April.. I like the idea of just charging it all and then settling up at the end. This way I can see how much we spent too!!

They will replace it and cancel out the old card. Yes someone else can us it so report it asap and get new replacement card(s). Not for sure if money is insured but there is a cap placed on your card either by you requesting an amount or the perset amount per resort type.

I drive down so if its going to get stolen it is going to be from the car to the check in at Disney and Im pretty sure I am safe and I learned a lesson last time I was there buy charging and paying when I get home, we went over our budget and the last thing I want to do is worry about how much money we can or cant spend.

You can charge at downtown disney as well :)
Even the restaraunts that arent owned by disney, I charged our drinks at the bar with my room key at Wulfgang's

is the Swan and Dolphin. They are on Disney property but don't have reciprocal room charging privileges. S/D guests can't charge back, outside of the 2 hotels, and Disney resort guests can't charge back purchases/meals at the S/D.

If you were to pay cash of say $1000 upon check in, can you then check your balance a few days later and add to it if you need to. This sounds like such a safe way to go, and so much less hassle than dealing with cash all day.
