Charging to room card at value vs. mod./deluxe?

Then something has changed recently. Have you called the front desk of teh resort you are booked at directly?

Often the people at CRO/WDTC have NO idea on policies such as this one.

Yes. That was the one that kind of laughed a little. :(

I wish I could do this. It would make things alot easier. I just dont plan to use the CC for anything other than an emergency. :(

You can always put the card down, and then just settle your account each day (or as often as you're comfortable with) in cash so that it will never charge to the card. The card is like a security deposit, they won't touch it unless you run off without paying up :)

I know but I am very skittish about that. I have done that before (not WDW) and they charged the card anyway. Then said "Ohhhh, we're sorry." (didnt sound too sincere) I'm just not too anxious to have it happen again.

We stay at All-Stars quite frequently and usually have a large party of three to four rooms all charging on room keys. (We tally up all the charges at the end of the trip, and the folks going with us give us cash or write us a check). I get the miles :-)!!

They have NEVER charged our card without our authorization. When we bump up on our $500 limit, the person at the register has to call the resort. They then ask us if we want to charge it out to our credit card. However, with our large group, I usually just stop by the desk each night and have it charged out so that members of our group don't have to hunt us down if we are not together when the limit is bumped up on.

I still wish they would allow you to give them money up front so you can do this without the CC. :( Oh, well.

Last year at YC we hit the $1500 mark early on (we had alot of "special treats" during this vacation) and I was in the gift shop of the hotel when we reached the limit. They simply picked up the phone, had the card charged and we started over with another $1500.

Well DH just came home and read this over my shoulder and apparently we have hit our limit and started over many times  I guess I have just been in my "blissful" vacation mode and never noticed. Sorry to have caused any controversy.

To do the charging to your room all you need is a resort room key? It doesn't matter if you booked a package?

I was thinking the same thing! DH always takes care of the finances (on vacation, I do it at home! I know, go figure! :confused3 ), I'll bet he knew about this and I just didn't!
