Charging stations in the parks

Does anyone know if there are charging stations for phones in the parks? I was there two years ago and put the Disney app on my iphone (which was extremely helpful to monitor ride lines), but I found it drained my battery down tremendously. Any suggestions on how to overcome it?

I have a couple of portable chargers - I got them pretty cheap on Amazon and they are about the size of a lipstick case.

Ditto the Jackery. But there is one larger that can charge two at once and can charge your phone 3 or so times before it needs to be recharged. It's been worth every penny.

I have a portable charger I bought for $5 at Five Below and it works great. I have not used it while at WDW, but I have used it for days when it seems like I was using the phone all day.

These are excellent for Iphones. http://www.mophie.com/shop/ They make battery packs as well as the phone cases that charge/add charge to your phone.

If something like those are not an option there are charging stations near the Rapunzel restrooms in MK, in one of the Innoventions (West I think) building at EPCOT, and theres also at least one at DHS.

Best of luck and enjoy!

I've only seen a phone charging stations at the Chase VIP Lounge at Epcot's American Adventure.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the parks offered charging lockers you could rent. I'm not saying these are convenient, but they are an option.

There are charging areas at all (except maybe AK, I haven't checked there) the parks.

MK - Space Mountain store - the back of the store has a wall dedicated to charging. There is a counter with a massive number of ports (wall ports, not USB, so be sure to bring the converter as well) as well as stools to sit at.
MK - Tangled bathroom area - between the two paths from Fantasyland to Liberty Square, there is a little area with tables and barrels. The barrels each have 2 ports, but they tend to fill up fast and are filled consistently, so I don't recommend trying here.
MK - Storybook Circus - There is a small rest area at the back of Storybook Circus that has some ports and benches. I haven't tried it to see how many there are, but that area tends to be very relaxed so if you are there it is something to check out.
MK - hub? - When they first reopened the hub earlier this year, the lamps all had outlets. Since they closed and redid it again, I'm not sure guests are able to access those ports anymore

EPCOT - D-zone (behind the exit for Club Cool) - It's just a hallway but it is inside, they recently added tables, and it is air conditioned

DHS - Jack Sparrow lounge - I haven't been there and it isn't always open. But it is a spot.

I'm sure there are more that I am missing. But those are what I have used.
But absolutely invest in a portable charger if you don't want to wait while it is charging

There are the two newest lounges and charging stations at EPCOT and DHS

I used a portable charger but did notice the charging station at the Space Mountain store, it would be great for someone not going on the ride who wanted to stay cool and also charge up while waiting for someone on the ride (I always went on the ride). I also went to guest services at the entrance of MK to try to get the location of a brick my friend had purchased. It took awhile for them to locate it, I stood at the counter for about 15 minutes (long enough for my kids to go see Tink) and while there I saw at least 4 or 5 people dropping off/picking up their phones to be charged. The CM gave them a blue ticket then put the other half of the blue ticket with the phone and went to charge it (the guest didn't even have to provide the charging cord, just gave the phone to the CM). I never needed to do that but thought it was interesting, I never would have thought of dropping my phone off to be charged.

As posted above, they are everywhere. I'm not looking for them but 1-2 times a day I'll see people with their phones plugged into a station.

Just wondering how feasible it is to use a charging station. Wouldn't it take awhile to charge the phone? Do people just sit or stand around waiting for it to charge? I understand the need for it, but it seems like much time would be wasted, unless these are super-fast stations.

I would think if someone is waiting for family/friend on the Space Mountain ride they could get a fairly decent charge in the store there. The person charging does sit around and wait but it is also sitting in the comfortable AC and if they were going to wait anyway it is a double plus. I know my phone would go up approx 30% while charging during a meal (I had a portable charger). That 30% was often times the difference between letting my daughter facetime her friends during the fireworks or not.

It depends on your phone usage. It's fine if you're just charging it enough to have a phone in case of an emergency or so, but not if you're using data all-day long. I would recommend a portable charger in that case.
