If a person staying at one of the Disney resorts puts a credit card down at registration, is it possible to use your room key (key to the world) to charge back to the main hotel account?

Do you use it like a regular credit card? Where is it accepted?

Can it be used for food and merchandise (souvineers)?

You can use your room key to charge at all of the Disney owned restaurants & stores.

Yep, you use the key just like a credit card. It is accepted at pretty much all the stores and restaurants.
The charging limit depends on what level of resort you are staying at.
Value - $500
Moderate - $1000
Deluxe - $1500

When you get close to the limit, you can ask the front desk to put the charges through to your credit card, then you will have the full limit to charge again.

You can also use it to make charges at food carts and concession stands.

Cool! My parents want to charge almost everything so they can rack up some frequent flier miles on their card.

Glad to know snacks and concession carts are included.

And just a note, were staying at the WL so I guess our limit will be $1500.

You can also add your park tickets to your room key. We did it in August and it was so nice to have one 'card' for everything! We just went to the concierge desk in the lobby and they did it for us - we had paper park tickets that we bought elsewhere and they took them and reprinted our room key with the tickets on them. It was great! :flower: (Just be sure you do it before you use the park ticket - I don't think they can do it after).

How does that work if your ticket is a no expire and you do not use all the days during that trip? Do you just keep the room key for use as a park ticket for your next trip? TIA
