Charging privileges...

My friend is asking this question... and I am not sure, so I will post it here...

When we check into our hotel on Sat. 2/9 (for one night only) at All Stars - will our room card key be accessible at Magic Kingdom for charges like food, gifts ect. like the key to the world cards we get when we go for a week or will we have to pay cash for everything. We'll get to the resort before actual check in time and I know we can check our luggage in but can we get our room cards for this when we get there so we can use them if they are accessible. We will be checking out before we hit Downtown Disney, so I'm sure we'll need cash or credit card for that day.

Anyone have the answers?

If you check in at the resort and provide a credit card at the time of check in you will get your key cards with charging privledges right away. At least that is what I think and we were just there in August.

You can get your resort IDs anytime on your check-in day. On Jan 1 we went to the Poly at 7:30 AM and got our IDs and went to MK for EE. I didn't select the charging option for this stay, but I could have and they'd have been active when we hit the park. We came back at 3 PM for a room assignment and then hit the pool.

When we were there in December I was wondering if we could still use our cards to charge after we checked out, because we were there for six more hours. I think we could have. They had slipped our express checkout thing under the door the morning we checked out, with all our charges on it. But I made two phone calls and I noticed that a few days later my credit card had been charged again for those two calls. So I think we could have used our room card to charge even after we checked out, and it would have just been charged to our credit card like the additional phone calls were.

Yes, you can start charging from the time you check in and get your room keys--even if you don't have your room yet.

And you can charge until the parks close on the day you check out. It will show up separately from the total room charges on your credit card bill.

Yes. We bought all our souviniers our last day at World of Disney and charged them to the room.
