My DD will be taking her Nintendo DS to Florida.

If anyone here has taken a Nintendo DS with before, how have you gone about charging it up when you are in Florida. Do you need a special charger or is the one supplied ok to use

Just get a travel adapter and plug it in the end:thumbsup2 but it may take a while to charge, we always take 2 batteries ready charged (plus a mini screwdriver in the suitcase) and when they run flat we recharge them overnight:thumbsup2 so they are ready for the next time DS wants to use his Nintendo Ds.:goodvibes :goodvibes

As we have US machines i dont know what range the UK charger will take i.e. is it 110-240v? You could purchase a US charger if you come across one for the right price, the output of the US charger is obviously the same as the UK one, it is just what amount of juice you put in. It will work notably faster than your uk one and is there for further visits that i am sure you want to do. :goodvibes

We have a ds but plan to buy a ds lite when we get there and use the charger from that to charge both machines.

We have a DS Lite bought here and we can charge it up no problem in the US using a plug adaptor. We also bought a DS lite when we were in Florida at Christmas and charge them both here using our European adaptor and will charge them both there using the US adaptor

As someone has mentioned it may take a while to charge up. If this could be a problem then i'm sure US chargers can be picked up on eBay and the like =]

Tinktatoo,

You have bought a DS lite and use the US "official" charger in the UK? Are you sure on that as it is 110v input only.

Also never use the US official DS lite charger in the UK, it is 110v only so it is gonna cause problems juicing it up with 240. Is it Gamestop or something that has shops over there?

You can always plug it into your shaver point in the bathroom :rotfl:

And don't forget that since Nintendo games are not set to regions, you can buy with confidence that they will work in the UK consoles.

Sorry I didn't make myself clear - we use the US charger on both DS's when we are in the US and the UK charger on both DS's when we are home. You can't use the US charger in Europe becasue of the voltage

We used our UK charger for DD's DS when we were in Florida last year :)

As mentioned previously it took a little longer to charge up but DD took it out with us every day and we had no problems :thumbsup2
