Charger and Plug confusion

I wonder if anyone could help me.I want to know whether i will be able to charge my electronics while I'm at Disney.

I'm Getting rather confused as to whether i can just buy a uk to us plug adapter, shove it in the wall and then plug in my appliances or will that blow everything up?All i need to charge is my Canon Legria fs306 camcorder, a Panasonic lumix tz18 camera and a ipod touch which i have a wall charger for.

Also does anyone know whether while staying at Pop will my Ipod touch be able to receive wifi?

I've always charged my electronics just fine using a UK-US adaptor

Wifi is in all wdw resorts now I think (is it?)

We always use adapters and have no problems at all, even using a hair dryer and straighteners.

If you are able to pick up a wi-fi connection you will have no problems at all. We stayed in OKW this year with free wi-fi as staying in a 1 bed and had no problems at all.

We take a US~UK adapter then a 4 way extension to put everything in.

To add a little confusion into the mix, IF you have lots of things that charge from a USB supply, I bought a cheap USB charger with USA plug from some Hong Kong place a while back which turns out was useless (Serves me right I suppose) so ended up buying another from Walgreens. cost $10 is a lot smaller (about and inch cube, not including the two prongs) than either the one I bought from HK or the three pin UK plugs, and worked perfectly. That means I only needed to take the USB leads instead of each individual charger and everything fits nicely into a small tupperware container.

I am bald, so have no need for either a hair drier or indeed straighteners!!

Thanks everyone this is really useful. Is there a specific adapter i should we buying or will any one from amazon do? i don't want it breaking while i'm out there.

On our past few visits to the US and like yourself having a number of electronic devices that seem to be necessary nowadays, we usually take a UK 4 gang extension lead with us. This means we can have a couple of devices charging at the same time.

Also found that a number of our devices can be recharged via USB, so we have a couple of USB adaptors that with the appropriate cables can charge all three phones, iPod and Kindles.

Kindle's, Blackberry's (including playbook) and many modern mobiles (non-apple) use the same micro USB connector, so one lead will charge all. Fewer leads, fewer chargers, more weight in the bags left over for other stuff.

In our case, we ended up with just two USB cables - one to charge all three phones and kindles and one for iPod, plus a mains charger for the Netbook.

How did we manage 20 years ago without all of this technology!!!!
