I Know that if you setup a priority seating for breakfast with cinderella they charge you right away. I am not aware of any other items being immediately charged.
Yes, it probably is. When we looked into the Segway Tour for last September, we were told that our credit card would be charged when we booked the tour. When we have booked Cindys in the past, we were charged a deposit per person but with Segway, the whole amount would have been immediately charged. HTH
When I did surfing at TL a while back, they didn't charge my card until I showed up at the park that morning. I don't remember if they even took my credit card over the phone. I booked the lesson a few weeks before my trip.
Maybe it's different for the tours, but when I get on the official Disney site, I get the feeling they operate in similar fashion (billing-wise).
I know when I called for my tours, I called the tour number and they answered Disney Dining - I was perplexed but they were able to book them for me, so I'm sure that is what it is.
We also just returned from our trip. We did the Segway tour 2/22 and it was a blast! Our trainer, John was excellent. You will have fun and be amazed at how it responds to you!
I am soooooo excited! I just booked for mem and my hubby in April. I figure this is a once in a lifetime experience. I can't wait. Hearing everyone talk about their experiences has me really counting the days!
My husband and I did the Segway tour last May and when I booked it I, too, thought of it as a once in a lifetime experience. We decided to go back to WDW again this year and the first thing my husband said was "Let's do the Segway tour again!" so we'll be doing our second Segway tour this May. Riding a Segway is just too much fun to do just once, and the World Showcase has got to be the perfect place to ride one.
The feeling I got riding the Segway really took me back to my childhood when I experienced the thrill of riding a 2-wheel bicycle without training wheels for the first time. You'll find yourself riding around with a big grin on your face!
I really want to do this tour but I have a question. Does anyone know if it goes on if it's raining? I'm guessing it doesn't but maybe they just issue you Mickey ponchos & off you go anyway!

Unfortunately, no. I just booked for next December and was told that if it were raining, the 2 hour tour became a 1 hour tour (the first hour that is done indoors) and that we would receive a 50% discount on the price. Let's hope for lots of !
