Charge for rental car no show?

If I reserve a car for one day (probably with Budget beacuase we can get DH's corporate rate), and we change our minds at the last minute and do not pick up the car, will we be charged for the rental?

I know there are certain rental car companies that do not even ask for a credit card to reserve, but we are getting a much better rate with Budget.

Anyone have experience?

Generally those rental companies that ask for a credit card to reserve a car will charge a no-show fee. I'm not sure what they are, but I'd call Budget and ask if they charge a no-show fee.

There is no charge if reservations are canceled one day prior to your pick-up date. If the reservation is canceled less than 24 hours in advance of the rental pick-up time, you may be subject to a one-day rental charge, depending upon the pick-up location and vehicle type.

For renters in Atlanta, a $100 fee will be charged if you cancel within 24 hours of your pick-up time.
