i just read that they are going to start charging for parking at resorts. i am a little confused. does that mean that if i am staying at pop i will now have to pay to park at poly if igo there for quick sevice food. we usually go when it is free dining and go to many resorts to eat at quick service. if they are indeed going to start charging they willl lose money cause free dining will not be an incentive and i will stay offsite. just was wondering

Yes. No. Maybe. Rumor. Test. Some free time. No free time. Some Pay. Some Don't. Hourly. Flat Fee. Temporary. Permanent.

Right now I believe we are still in the fiction section, waiting to see if we move into non-fiction. :drive:

A few blogs predicting it. Only true fact so far 8 permits have been filed for resort guard shacks.

Waiting for first hand reports of someone being asked to pay to park.

As all things these days at Disney ..... subject to change.

I heard they were testing it at CR? Too much unknown. Is on site guests included? Can't see that because we get free parking at the parks. So my sense is if this happens its to deter off site guests from using hotels to park at, and leaving car thete while going to the parks. Many do that. They may have a dinner ADR but go early and leave car at the resort. Then hours later return for the ADR.
The monorail & Epcot resorts have a real problem with that. When we stayed at Poly & had a few days with a car, we could barely find a parking spot.

So I agree with that somewhat. If you have an ADR you could have free parking 30 min before ADR time plus 2 hrs dinner time. Would be one case scenerio. But many, like me enjoy resort hopping to shop, and grab something from the CS. But I just use WDW transportation to do that.

Sad it's the few rule breakers that abuse the system that ruins things for the rest.

As others have noted, it's a rumor at this time. But in your scenario, you could park at TTC and walk to the Poly to eat if worse comes to worse.
