Charge for Grocery Delivery?

With all of these new fees being instituted, I am not 100% sure what applies and what does not.

I read a month or so ago that if you have anything delivered to the hotel, the front desk charges you a fee. Some said this applies to all, some said DVC members are not charged for grocery deliveries.

Can somebody please clarify for me?

I called Member Services, but the wait was 20 minutes. No thank you!

If you have anything shipped (via USPS, FedEx, UPS, etc) there is a package handling fee. If you have groceries delivered directly to bell services (via Garden grocer, instacart, Prime Now, etc) there is no package handling fee just the tips to bell services

Was this so Disney could profit off the people who send Christmas decorations during the holidays to decorate their room with?

Disney gave the convention package business to a third party, their agreement is that they would handle all packages for the convention resorts and that they can collect a fee per package. (I'm sure that Disney gets a kickback). I believe that the fee has now been extended to all resorts.

As PP indicated convention resorts have had this fee for years but it was extended to the rest of the resort as well last year. Rumor was that the number of packages being shipped to the hotels by guests had significantly increased over the years (Amazon and the like) and Disney was trying to limit it by introducing a handling fee for every package sent.
