charge for changing discount on room res?

We have booked a reservation at CBR in May and when I booked the CAA discount was not in the computer. I am hoping for an AP discount for that time, but am wondering if I should apply the CAA discount now and then change to an AP discount if one comes available. I wasn't sure if I would be charged a fee for changing the rate again. Also we are going in Sept and don't know if I should book now or wait to see if the free dining is offered. It would be a reservation for rooms only since we have APs or if the free dining is offered, we would go for the package. We went last Sept and loved the free dining.

there is usually no charge for changing rate code.. if that rate code is available.. some CM's say you need to cancel & rebook, some just switch the rate code for you on existing ressie.... if they try to have you cancel & rebook.. book first then cancel the other or you can end up with nothing!
