Charcoal at FW Store?

publix always has the best selection of fresh produce, and their meat section just looks so much cleaner. If you do use a service, have them go to publix. They also do weekly ads with lots of buy 1 get 1 free, and there's a section in the back called affording the essentials. It's a selection of foods that they keep marked down for a few weeks at a time, some good deals, others not always. Publix ad starts Thursday, and with iheartpublix.com they usually post the ad one week earlier than the store on Wednesday in the paper. That way you can plan your list around the sales.

And don't be sticker shocked by our 3.29 a gallon of milk. My aunt was here from texas where they pay almost a dollar less.

I've never seen one posted anywhere. I would think because the selection changes often.

I do know that the items I looked at were outrageously expensive, and by that I mean double or more.

I would be buying milk, butter, charcoal, hot dogs & hot dog rolls. Maybe eggs and frozen pizza too. We are planning on packing as much as possible in our suitcases.

If you're buying all that, plan on packing one suitcase with cash. :lmao: No, It's not really that bad, just a lot more costly than the outside. And there's a Wynn Dixie just up 535 from the Hotel Drive entry. Super Wal Mart within 3-4 miles, etc.

I found Garden Grocer to be expensive but not outrageous. We used them when we were staying in a room rather than an cabin or tent and we were flying. Paying slightly inflated prices and a service fee for cereal, yogurt, fruit, beer, diet coke and wine was actually a huge savings in the end-over Disney on site prices.

A box of cereal was around $7.00 a gallon of milk was around the same. I think I remember the hot dogs around $6.00 a pack. I was just there for spring break and remember going:scared1: when I saw the prices. I would try to make other arrangements.

If you manage to snag a vehicle, there's also a very nice Winn Dixie less than a mile from DTD and in the same plaza is also a great ABC liquor store.

Oh and fair warning - steer clear of the Goodings at Crossroads. Selection is pitiful and prices are nearly as steep as the trading posts. Food prices are bad enough, but the alcohol prices are through the roof! :scared1:

Are the prices similar to ordering through DVC delivery?

I was able to find out that the prices in the stores are exactly the same as the DVC delivery prices. They don't want us to buy something for one price in one location and a different price elsewhere. This was according to the store manager on duty. She even gave me the 3 pages of prices for everything grocery related.

This will be my first time at the Fort! Can we buy grill stuff like charcoal, on property? We are planning to grill a few nights at our cabin.

If you can make a decent list I would think something like a delivery service would still be cheaper than buying at FW.

Just an observation ... we used to go to the Publix on 535 just before your get to 192, but that has really gone down in the last 5 years or so after the Super WM opened on 535 about a mile or so before you get to that Publix from the Crossroads. Also there is a WD about a mile from the Crossroads on 535 in the other direction that isn't bad.
