Characters

We loved Mickey and Minnie-- although they werent there the full 30 minutes we paid for:sad2:[/QUOTE]

The price for characters says 'for up to 30 mins' but how do they work that? Technically then, they can charge you full price for 5 mins? Doesn't seem fair, as it's a lot of money for 30 mins as it is, let alone LESS time!
How long did anyone else have their character's for? Is there a 'secret' to getting them to stay the full time?

You are right-- although it does say 'up to 30 minutes' ... it being disney you expect the full 30 minutes (that I feel we well paid for-- especially by getting 2 characters)... its just the chance you take. They certainly dont time it and allow for only certain things.

Randy was our photographer and he shoots 34986y2983=-some odd photos a minute and we still didnt end up with the amount of photographs of/with Mickey & Minnie that I would have expected.

I suppose this is a downside to having Characters. I really see no reasoning why they should/could leave earlier than 30 minutes... with people paying that much they really do deserve a little more time than they pay for.

Just my opinion..

That is pretty unfair.
Do they follow a set schedule of poses or things they do? I wonder if you could somehow 'stall' them when taking the last lot of photo's until your 30 mins are up:rolleyes1
I want LOTS and LOTS of photo's with M & M that's why I'm paying an outrageous price for them to come to our 'party' so I really want to get my money's worth.

We had Mickey and Minnie at our wedding too. They were such a big hit. I loved all the pictures we had with them. They stayed for a long time at our wedding... more then 30 minutes. It was late at night so maybe that makes a difference.

Mickey proposing to Minnie. My brother took the photo and I just think it is so cute with the flowergirl watching it. Only a few people saw it. I didn't see it.

When I first approached my mother with my DFTW the first question she asked was, "Can you have characters there?" All of my guests are traveling from the Northeast and Mickey and Minnie would be a lovely surprise for those who may not be able to spend alot of time in the parks (not everyone will make a mini-vacation out of this). I can't wait to see the look on some of the children's faces. So looking forward to this!

Those pictures are so wonderful Tammy 32:bride: and Maggimus:bride: . Beautiful weddings.

Mom and Dad surprised us (and EVERYONE ELSE TOO) with Mickey and Minnie. It was great! The adults loved it as much as the kids. They were contracted for 30 min, but probably stayed 45.

My mom spoke with Linda S., who still works there, but is now in HR. She put Mom in touch with the Disney people, and they treated it as a Disney Wedding. They didn't care. I know someone else (may have been you) said they couldn't do it. I don't know if things have changed, but it was not an issue then. I regret not trying for a Magic Kingdom photo session.

I never really asked, didnt realize you could. I will. Thanks!

Minnie & Mickey only stayed approx 15-20 minutes at our wedding. It was disappointing that they didnt stay longer, but absolutely priceless for the memory we all have.

I completely agree with you. Though they werent there long (which was a big disappointment and I dont think my bank account was too pleased either)... it was great to have them there as long as they were.

do their 'handler's' just whisk them away in the middle of something, or do they sense there is a lull so presume you've had enough of them? Do they give you a reason for them leaving after a short time? Do they give you a '5 minute warning' that they'll be leaving? I'm just really concerned that they don't give you your money's worth, after all they aren't cheap for what is essentially 3 people's time (1 hour tops, incl dressing and travel time?)

My DF's sister got married in Vegas and had an Elvis impersonator. On our trip to the world right after we got engaged we went to Mickey's not so scary Halloween Party and saw Stitch dressed up like Elvis for Halloween. We asked DFTW if it would be possible to have Stitch come in the Elvis costume to our wedding as a nod to her wedding. They told us that as long as the Elvis costume for Stitch was still available we could use it.

We're kind of leaning towards Mickey and Minnie now, just for the classic Disney elements, or Chip and Dale. But we may switch back to Stitch.

Does anyone know if Cinderella is available? And if so, is it a different price? Or maybe even the Fairy Godmother?

as far as I know princesses are not available at weddings - you are the princess in disney;s eyes:goodvibes but the godmother---hmmm i don't know

We had Mickey and Minnie at our wedding and they were there longer than 30 minutes. They came after the cake cutting and danced most of the time with us and then went outside the ballroom for pictures. It was an awesome time for both kids and adults!:thumbsup2
