Characters Signing T-shirts

One of my favorite things I like guests to do, that I do myself.. is to bring an actual small canvas.. like a 12" x 8" and have the characters sign on that.. bring different color markers, etc.. it's AWESOME or wall art. I have a whole set going in my apartment.. a canvas for princesses, a canvas for the fab 5, etc.

I've been leaning toward t-shirts or similar for our autographs because I want to be able to USE them when we go home!

I don't have experience with t-shirts, but I've had characters sign hats (tip: get a gold- or silver-colored sharpie [may have to go to an art supply store] for dark-colored hats).

One was a straw hat, where the characters signed the band around the base of the hat (where it meets the brim), and the other was standard canvas baseball cap. Sorry, no pictures handy.

Be sure that if they are signing a t-shirt, that the collecter is not wearing it, since the characters would not be able to sign it.

Now I may be wrong, but I thought I've heard something like that you can take something like a t-shirt and ask the front desk of your resort if you are staying on property to have the characters sign it, and you will get it back by the end of your vacation with the signatures on it. Not the same type of experience as having the character sign it directly, but this way you aren't running around with a t-shirt trying to get their signatures.

We did tote bags on our last trip and on our last day in the Magic Kingdom we still had about 8 characters we wanted to sign our bags. The majority of our day was going to be taken up by the Keys to the Kingdom tour. We asked at guest services if they could possibly get the people we wrote down to sign our bags. He said he couldn't guarantee anything but he would def. try. He was fantastic and got everyone on our list plus some extras.
