We are surprising DD10 this weekend with a 2-days quick birthday trip.
I just made her a shirt to wear.
My question is about getting it signed. I know characters will not sign if the person is wearing the item. BUT my dd will have a thick tank on underneath. We are going BAG FREE and will have nothing on us but our magic bands, ID's, phones, etc. so no room to bring a clipboard, embroidery hoop, etc. I don't really want to carry the shirt around just to have it signed if she's not wearing it. That's a big risk of me putting it down, her forgetting it on a ride, etc.
Is it bad character etiquette to take the shirt off before getting in a character line, have it signed, then slip it back on for the photo?
I'm just wondering if anyone has done this or has experience getting a shirt signed when you're bag/stroller free and can't take along a clipboard? I can stick a Sharpie in my back pocket with no worries but I don't want to offend anyone or break rules and I couldn't find an "official" position about slipping a shirt on/off for signing.
Any thoughts?
