I took a trip with my neice (4) and nephew (2) in early June. their first trip to WDW.
I made them little autograph books that they loved to look through and the characters loved also.
I bought little 4X6 photo albums at Michaels. Colored plastic covers with a snap closure. They were only $.99.
I made a title page with the childs name on the front and just in case, their address on the inside of the cover.
I then went to the internet and got clipart for all the characters they would see at the parks. You can find lists on different sites that will tell you what characters are around and where you might find them. I didn't want to miss anyone.
I printed this clipart onto sticky paper, not the label kind with cut lines, but the solid 8X11.
I then cut out the character, I cut an oval shape around the clipart, I didn't cut them along the lines, I am not that much of a fanatic.
I put each of the characters (except Chip and Dale) on their own 4X6 file card. Use the back side where there is no lines printed.
When we came to a character the kids got in line and I pulled the card out of their little book and gave it to the character to sign. They all seemed to love seeing that I took the time to have those cards made up and seemed to spend a little more time interacting with the kids.
This also helped my Disney challenged neice and nephew to learn some of the characters before they saw them at the parks. They would know Dora and Barney anywhere, but they were not as familiar with Buzz and Pocohontas until I told them some of the stories as we looked through the books.
I only wish I had made these a few weeks before the trip so we could have gotten more time beforehand to know all the characters.
They both have their books in their rooms and we look through it every time I go over to visit. A great memory for them and Auntie Peggie. Peggie
