Characters on the Dream

I found the list on the Disney website for the characters that do meet and greets on board. Is this a pretty iron clad list - or is there a slight chance that characters not on that list might make an appearance? The ones I am most curious about are Rapunzel and Alice. Rapunzel is DD1(4years old)'s favorite ever, and DD2's (20 months) name is Alice so I'd like to try to get a picture of the two Alices if I can. :) Thanks!

I did a little more research - Rapunzel is in one of the stage shows correct? Is this for the one on the Dream? At least my four year old would get to see her sing on stage and she'd probably be good with that. :)

We didnt see either last year in meet and greets. But we also didnt see Jack Sparrow who is supposed to be there. I think they have a basic list that is subject to change.

I wouldnt tell your DD that either will be there but if they are then it is a big surprise!

Jack sparrow was in front of Walt's theatre the second day to the Bahamas ( Pirates day) he was posing almost same time as the princesses were in the atrium, Rapunzel appears in Golden mickey with flynn (At Last I've seen the light) and no signs for alice at all.

Below is what I experienced in early June. At the time, Rapunzel appeared in the Golden Mickeys, but did not do M&Gs. I don't remember Alice or any Wonderland characters anywhere.

Just back from the first 5-night Dream "Alternate Itinerary" June 7-12 and had a blast. For those who are character hunters, there is no shortage of characters to meet and there were a few that are hard to find anymore, at least at WDW.

Common:
Mickey
Minnie
Donald
Daisy
Goofy
Pluto
Chip and Dale
Snow White
Belle
Aurora
Tiana
Ariel
Cinderella
Woody
Jessie
Buzz Lightyear
Tinkerbell
Peter Pan
Lilo
Stitch
Mr. Incredible (no autographs)
Mrs. Incredible (no autographs)

Rare:
Captain Jack Sparrow
Hook
Smee
Dopey
Jiminy Cricket
Remy
Max
Aladdin (as Prince Ali)

All of these were available at some point for Meet and Greets, including autographs. DD7 saw the vast majority of them.

Others appeared in shows, but did not do M&Gs as far as I remember:
Jasmine
Rapunzel
Flynn Rider
Mary Poppins
Baloo
Genie
Mulan
Pocahantas
Cruella Deville
Naveen

Hope that helps someone....

You will always get the main 5 - Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto. And then there will be an assortment of princesses. All characters are dependent on the cast members contract and whether or not they are sailing.

We have had 6 cruises now and have always seen (in addition to the 5 above):
Stitch
Daisy
Cinderella
Belle
Tiana (last 4 cruises)
Jack Sparrow (pirate night only)
Chip and Dale (can't believe I forgot them)

The following vary by cruise:
Tinker Bell
Remy
Buzz/Woody (both one day)
Incredibles (same day at TS)
Snow White
Sleeping Beauty
Peter Pan
Jiminy Cricket
Pinocchio
Alice - usually on the 7 nights (for the tea party there needs to be an Alice)

These are only the meet and greet characters that I remember. I didn't list any of the show characters. Hope this helps. But I definitely wouldn't promise any child anything but the main 5 characters! :)

Thanks for all the info this helps a lot!
Ooooooh Tinker Bell! One of my favs! That's cool I didn't know she was on the ship. The girls will love that.
My 4 year old has been asking me if Rapunzel would be on the ship. I don't like to guarantee anything because stuff is subject to change and all that, but when she asks I like to try to give her some info one way or another. Even though she's 4 she's fairly logical and reasonable. I told her I wasn't sure about Rapunzel because all that hair might be too long for the small rooms and nodded understandingly and she said oh yeah that would be tough. Haha kids are so fun at this age. I think she'd be happy with just seeing Rapunzel and Flynn on stage.
No worries about Alice...it gives me yet another reason to go on a 7 night cruise when my little Alice is bigger.
Thanks again.

You may be able to see Alice. We have been on several cruises and have seen her several times, though typically she hasn't necessarily been 'listed' on the boards and such. We typically found her on deck 4 overlooking the atrium. However, we did see her more often on the Magic and Wonder. I don't recall seeing her on the Dream.

You may be able to go to Guest Services after boarding an inquire if Alice is scheduled for any appearances during your cruise. They may be able to tell you. I know at the parks Guest Services can tell you where and when a character is scheduled to appear that day, but not positive if the same is possible on the ship, but would guess so.

Rapunzel and Flynn are both in the Golden Mickeys show on the Dream. She makes an appearance in the booth on the right side of the theater (if facing the stage) and then her and Flynn are in the boat on the stage. So. . . . sit where you can see the booth on the right side well for that show.

Alice and the Mad Hatter typically appear on 7 night cruises, both at "Tea with Alice" and at meet and greets. Sorry, I haven't seen them on shorter cruises (doesn't mean they won't be there, just that I haven't seen them).

If there is someone you want to see and haven't managed to during the cruise, go to "Till We Meet Again" on the last night--LOTS of characters from the stage as well as the standard meet and greets will be there.

I'm not sure that I agree with the categorization of "common" and "rare." Hook, Smee, and Jack Sparrow are always out on pirate night. Woody, Jesse, and Buzz are a lot more rare in my experience.

Some of the "stage only" characters will be at "Till We Meet Again," and for some this may be the only time you can get a photo or autograph with them.

Just to let you know that sometimes the characters are under the weather so they won't be available for meet and greets. On the 2008 EBPC repo Aurora was never out for a meet and greet. I call the PALS line every night and get the detailed character listing for the next day. The navigator just lists a general timefram and "characters".

How does Disney handle the character m&g? Is the character there for the full time?

When we sailed FOTS, my kids were in line to meet Shrek, just as we got to the front, Shrek got tagged by puss n boots .... and my kids were so upset (partially because my DS was scared of puss n boots).

I kept thinkign to myself ..."disney would never do that".

so, if you line up to meet a character, are you guarenteed to meet a character? do the characters leave if their time is over but there is still a lineup?

Thanks for the tip on the "Till we meet again" party - we'll definitely have to check that out that sounds like a lot of fun.

The best thing to do is ask the CM managing the character and line. They will tell you if you'll make it to the character before they have to leave.
