Characters on CC?

Hello!

Soooo many questions are now popping up as our cruise gets closer ...THANK YOU for ALL of your patience and help!!!

Our family LOVES to meet the characters!! We especially love seeing them in outfits that you might not get to see at WDW. I've read that there are photo opportunities on CC ... Our dilemma ...we are deciding between 2 scenarios for CC and we would still like to participate in the character meet and greets. We are worried that if we choose an excursion at 9:00 am - 12:30 pm that we will be rushed getting off the ship to make the 9:00 excursion therefore missing the characters and if we don't return until 12:30 will they be gone? So, we have a few questions about this:

1. What is the earliest you can get off the boat at CC? (Not doing 5K run)
2. Are the characters available all day?
3. Are they in certain spots OR do they "wander" around and you just "catch them when you can?"
4. Will the Navigator list places and times to see them on CC?
5. Not just related to CC, but about how long do they stay at the disembarking area on a port day for pictures?

I have got off at 8 am but whatever time it says for your cruise to get there normally it us that exact time.

The characters have set times the navigator will say when.

Often on disembarkation there are a few.

There are certain spots again as stated in the navigator, captain jack, Mickey goofy do not like the sun and prefer a bit of shade.

THANK YOU!!! That helps narrow things down!! Our cruise documents say that we arrive CC at 8:30, so I was a bit concerned about taking a 9:00 excursion ...

They will ask you time and time again not to go down to the doors until they tell you to but, Lots of cruisers do, in fact they stop the elevators calling on deck1 as people queue up from deck1 up the stairs. We gave always been off fast, normally if it says 8.30 we are off about 8.20 am.

Disembarkation is fast, even if you take your time you will be off by 9 am.

WOW!!! Just saw your example ... THANK YOU!!!! I missed it on my first reply ... THIS definitely made our decision to not do an excursion from 9:00 - 12:30!!!

THANK YOU for this confirmation!!! Thanks to you and "Disney Fantasy" we can now make our decision to skip the excursion from 9:00 - 12:30 as our DS 11 wants to see all the characters!!!

No worries! It's a great picture!! Fun to see where they take place!! Is there a special name for this spot?

We had both Chip and Dale and Jack Sparrow by the post office. Pluto, Stitch, and Mickey were by the Mickey Mount Rushmore. The lines really aren't that bad and the characters trade off spots so if you miss one, you may be able to get a pic with them later on. The handlers usually have info. All of these spots are on a waking path so you won't miss them. Even if you do, there are so many opportunities to see them on the ship.
I was walking to one of the photo spots and got this shot. I thought it was cute.

We caught Captain Jack as he was wandering up the beach on Serenity Bay in the mid-afternoon. He was trying to find out where the rum had gone.

This spot is my favorite because you get the beach and the ship in the background. (Scuttles Cove) We get a picture there every cruise. it is usually Mickey or Minnie and some times both. It is the first tram spot. A few feet down the sidewalk is Mt. Rushmore and we usually get Pluto or Goofy. Lines are short and we always do this before we head out to the beach for the day. Jack Sparrow does walk around in random places. There is also a very short dance party with the characters around 12 or 1:00 but it is very crowded and not meant for taking pictures. The earlier character lines are short and easy to get all 4 characters in their "swimsuits".
