We leave in just a few weeks and are wondering for those who have been on the west coast cruise, how many characters are on board? Also, do they have the autograph books available to purchase on the ship? What do they look like and how much are they?

Thank you in advance for any help that you can give. We are traveling with three young children who are very excited to meet the characters.

There's loads of characters and lots of times to see them.

And yes they do sale the autograph books.

oh yes! LOADS of Characters!!! even in the plays! Well.. of course! lol. There's Cinderella, Mulan, Wendy, Belle, Ariel, Chip & Dale, Donald Duck, Goofy, Minnie Mouse, Mickey Mouse, Pluto, Sleeping Beauty, Princess Minnie, Stitch, Hawaiin Stitch, Sailor Minnie & Mickey, Pirate Mickey & Minnie, Pochahontas, Captain Hook, Peter Pan, Tarzan, and more.

And yes, there are autograph books available in the gift shops. They're like the ones they sell at disneyland.

I make autograph books for my kids. I go to office Depot and have them cut card stock 8 x 10 colored paper in half. Then I have them bind it with a circular ring binder. Then we get copies of the Disneyland or Disneyworld fliers that are always available at nearby hotels and cut out the pictures with the kids. We then paste the pictures into the autograph book that we made. We leave room to paste in other stuff that we will collect on board and in the ports. We bring along a glue stick and scissors. You can paste in stuff when you are relaxing in the room. Hope this gives you an idea of how we do it.

Another couple of autograph ideas I have picked up - have the characters sign a hat or a pillowcase and then there is the one I am going to do - I am going to take a T shirt and laundry marker to guest services and request all the characters sign.

Do not miss the last night of the cruise in the atrium! It is listed in the Navigator as "Til We Meet Again" and it is very late, after 10pm, but there is every character imaginable from the princesses to Pinocchio + the performers from Disney Dreams, Twice Charmed and pirate night.

they are everywhere. I swear dd got to see all of her princesses almost daily. she was in heaven :flower:

Characters are also on the walk to the beach at castaway cay. The navigator tells you what time they are out. This is a great opportunity to see some characters for pictures without long lines, as most people just want to get to the beach and play. The first place is the CC post office and then a couple of places by the sidewalk with the beach in the background and then near the store there is another area where charaters are in the morning. Also the Gazebo, (near cooke's BBQ) also has characters on and off during the day. The lines is usually short and moves very quickly. It is a nice memory to have beach pictures with people in swimwear and characters dressed for the beach. Professional photographers are there taking picutrees and you can take your own too. This is less stressful than the long lines on the ship.
One tip I can offer for the mmet and greets on board. Be ther 15 to 20 minutes early to make sure you get to see your character. Lots of people wait for 45 minutes only to find out the allotted time has gone by and no more characters will be out for another hour. The princesses seem to have the longest lines. Better to wait 20 minutes before and get to see them as to wait 45 minutes for nothing. The first day everyone wants that first picture and is the bussiest and the last night, for the last chance is exrta busy.
In the terminal watch the area in the center where the model of the ship is. Characters go there often for pictures while your waiting to get on board.
Have a magical cruise!!!

Thank you so much for all of your ideas. I also plan to take a mat from a frame to guest services and ask that all of the characters sign it. It is a pretty large mat 16x20, so I think that there will be enough room for most of the signatures,

Thanks again!
