Characters - male/female?

This is so weird, because I remember reading something about the very small gymnast woman that used to do it, finally retired.

You're thinking of the Broadway musical - Cathy Rigby played Peter Pan.

I often wondered about the sex of the characters. On our last trip this past spring Geppeto laced arms with my oldest DD. Not thinking I laughed and said oh look you have a new boyfriend. He nodded yes, and patted DDs arm. Now what if that was a female I might of offended her. We had several occasions were I referred to one or another as a boy or girl and could of been so wrong. :confused3

I'm sure you won't offend the 'friend' of the character you're visiting with if you address them as the gender of the character. It doesn't matter what gender they are backstage, as soon as they step on stage, they ARE the character. (It's just like if I were to be cast in a production of, say, the Wizard of Oz as the Tin Man. As soon as I step on stage, I'm no longer Eric, I'm the Tin Man, regardless of who I may be when I'm off stage.)

Yes, exactly! On stage, they *are* the character and they will answer questions only in character. Chip and Dale will always tell you they are boys, no matter who their personal friends are. One thing I hate is when a boy character flirts with a female guest, and the woman says something like, "Oh, I hope that's a boy in there." I want to shout, it's not Angela flirting with you, silly. It's the chipmunk!

I was able to spot Donald's "friend" at Chef Mickey's last September '05 and November 04'. His friend was a man who was a dwarf ( I don't mean one of Snow White's roomates, either :earsboy: ) While we were waiting to be seated we were sitting on the banquette under the canopy watching Donald. I noticed his legs were extremely bowed and really short. After we were seated and eating, we noticed a man walk out of the kitchen dressed in a black t-shirt and black pants with a towel around his neck (he was quite sweaty). He was also a dwarf. Coincidence? Or not?

My coworkers DD was Mickey Mouse for a very long time. In fact, she met her DH when he was a waiter at Chef Mickeys and she was Mickey Mouse at Chef Mickey's - isn't that cool. :)

This reminds me! Around Dec. 1st, I was in MGM waiting on the VERY SHORT line to get pictures with Woody, Buzz, and friends, when Woody's handler (a dwarf or whatever PC term is to be used) gave me a hard time about being a solo adult getting pictures with Woody. This guy actually voiced his opinion OUT LOUD that he just couldn't understand going to WDW as a solo adult and without a family. Well, I wanted to POUND that guy ... on the inside! On the outside, I calmly explained that I LOVE WDW and that it doesn't matter if I have a gang of family around me or not - that I was having the best time ever (completely true) and that he should try it. Stupid ... dwarf ... guy!
