Characters in hotels - confused!

Now, I know that it has been said there will be no characters in hotels, even the DLH from November.

However, I was just playing about on the Walt Disney Travel site, as I just discovered how much cheaper it can be (thankfully not for our dates this time) and was reading the info on the hotels (as you do). None of the hotels mentioned characters at breakfast for Feb (because they won't be there)... except DLH, which says this:


Standard Room - Includes breakfast with a welcome from Disney Characters. Relax in luxuriously furnished rooms, decorated in a Victorian style. 2 double beds.

Is this a mistake? I thought this website was an alternative official Disney booking site so should have correct info?

Would be nice but I am not holding out hope!

Walt Disney Travel company is not a version of the official DLP site, its actually Hays travel, or Clippers Quay (I can't remember which one).

eta - nope, I think I'm confusing Walt Disney Travel with another website (no idea which one though). It does appear to be its own company, not a subsidiary of others, but I still wouldn't take what it says regarding characters at the DLH as gospel.

Ah, that explains it then! Thank you! I saw this and thought it was a Disney booking site. I don't think it is Clippers Quay as they are DLPdirect I think?! It just seemed odd that it wasn't mentioned in any other hotel but was in that one. Just a mistake obviously - I haven't been around during most of the hotel character discussions so wasn't sure what had officially been announced!

Because too many people are freeloading I think.
You don't need to pay a penny to go into any of the hotels and meet the characters. That's why they are moving them into the parks for emh from November.

Has a date been officially announced for the move of characters in November? DBF and I are staying in the DLH from the 19th and haven't seen anything officially announced yet so wondered if the change was still happening?

Yes it's the last day before the changeover to xmas season so the 7th I think as they usually start xmas a couple of days before it officially begins. We're there from the 17th so we'll just miss it too. I'm not over the moon about it either, but I am looking forward to seeing them in the parks at emh.

I'm excited about seeing them inside the park at EMH, but do we think they will be in there from immediate effect or will we have to wait a period before this happens? I'd hate not seeing any characters in the morning!

I just booked a 4 night stay in DLH from 19th November this morning. I asked about characters and the cm on the phone said they will be in the parks for EMH. I also asked if things like the opening of the advent calander with characters which happens in DLH at xmas would still be going on but she did not know the answer to that. I have sent a mail to DLH to ask and will let you know what they say.

On the official disney site it says characters will be a breakfast uptill 12th November.
