Characters at SSR?

Do any characters make appearances at SSR during the day or at night? One of the great things about waiting in the past to eat at BOMA at AKL was that there was activities for the kids and TIMON showed up.
So...any characters to look forward to at SSR?

Not on a regular basis. It can happen though.

Well, some of the people checking in to the resort may be characters, but not many Disney characters.

The bartender at The Turf Club can be a bit of a character.

No.

We were there for two weeks in the summer of '08 and didn't see any. At all. Anywhere.

Now that I think of it, I wonder what sort of characters would fit in there? Timon at AKL I can understand. But I can't think of any Disney characters who fit in with the horse racing theme (unless it's Mary Poppins and her carousel horses...but the Grand Floridian has more or less cornered the market on Mary.)

The SSR check-in lobby has the little kids sitting area that has cartoon "portraits" of 3 or 4 horses from Disney cartoons... but I cannot recall them right now

We didn't see characters at SSR, OKW or Kidani on our recent trips.
