Hi,

I'm Kate & I'm off to Disneyland Paris in September with my husband & ds (3) & dd (2) - I can't wait. We went to WDW last May & had a ball (kids probably way too young to remember, but we had a fab time).

We wanted to do some character meals whilst we're there & have decided to do Inventions & Cafe Mickey. Please could anyone tell me if the characters are there for dinner as well as lunch, & who we're likely to see.

Also would it be advisable to book for King Ludwigs?

The forum is great by the way - I've been lurking for a bit & picked up some great tips.

Thanks

Kate

hi and welcome :wave2: we went in september last year and it was fantastic.

The characters are only at inventions for dinner. At cafe Mickey they are there for breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. We have done cafe mickey 4 times and the most common characters we have seen there on every visit are Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy and Captain Hook, we have seen some others though they have not been there on every visit.

Not sure if you can book king Ludwig's as it is not a Disney restaurant.

You can certainly book it onsite so i would guess that you can reserve it on the phone too. That said as you are going in sept I would wait until you are there and book it on arrival. :moped:

I'm not sure if you've been to DLP before, but in case you haven't, it's a always a good idea not to go expecting another WDW. They are definitely different experiences - and assuming they will be the same can often lead to disappointment, despite the fact that DLP is a wonderful place in it's own right. :)

If you are planning to eat at King Ludwigs on your first evening, then it might be worth making a reservation before you go. Otherwise I'm sure you'll have no problem making one once you're there.

Edited to add, I've just had a look at the DLP Foodguide, and it says that you can't make reservations for King Ludwigs - sorry. But if you do want to eat at Inventions or Cafe Mickey on the day you would arrive, I really would advise making a reservation before you go - even if it's just for peace of mind. :)

Hi Kate :wave2:

We've been to Inventions and had Minnie, Perla, Suzy, Eeyore, Pluto, Tigger and Launchpad McQuack.

When we went to Cafe Mickey we had Mickey, Minnie, Genie, Robin Hood, Sheriff of Nottingham, Pinocchio, Gideon, Pluto and Goofy.

Unlike WDW, DLRP doesn't advertise which characters you will get at meals. My DD is desperate to have Chip and Dale but in 5 character meals we have never had them although I have read lots of trippies where others have been lucky! :)

Hi!

We have been at Inventions in low season (november), and we saw Mickey, Minnie, Chip & Dale, Tigger & Eyeore.

The food was fantastic and the service too.

I booked a character breakfast when I made our reservations. Is that something different from what you all are talking about or at a different place? I'm a total Disney novice, I know nothing!

AFAIK you cannot book King Ludwigs

For the lucky guests staying at the Disneyland Hotel then every breakfast is a character one! :cloud9:

For guests staying elsewhere the character breakfasts are either at Cafe Mickey or at Plaza Gardens. I believe you will be given your time and venue when you check in. :)

Any more questions, just ask away! :goodvibes
