characters at hotels.....

just thinkin after watchin reids video....... is there set times that characters are at hotels, and is there set ones at certain hotels, or could u end up with any character at any hotel??

i know that, at cheyenne, it seemed to be characters around 9/10am out the front of the main entrance and we saw whilst there, goofy & chip n dale (they were funny, it was in the shop and they were stealing toys and sweets!!!) but wondered who else visited which hotels and also times??

thinkin bout poppin in to 'check' the others hotels out, and thought that seein characters too wud be a good way - without lookin too nosey

can anyone help on times of meets, and who we are likely to see where??? need to check out hotels for my next stay (well, one after xmas )

I think the characters do indeed appear at certain times. I know the Davy Crockett lists them as between 2 times and I'm sure somebody has said in the past that they appear there at 7, 8 and 9 pm or something similar.

As for looking around the hotels, I'd be inclined to just walk in and start taking photos We went into the disneyland twice for meals, but the second time it took us a long time to leave if you know what I mean

In most hotels there will be a board or "gazette" that announces the times of the characters.
Walking through HNY the board would show something like Minnie 8.30 and 10.30, Pluto 8.00 and 10.00. The evenings are around 7.00pm.

At 4.00pm the characters come out at Disneyland Hotel.

t DCR between 8.00 - 10.00pm taking 30 min slots 2 characters alternate throughout the 2 hours for photo meet n greets. They both normally finish the evening dancing with the kids/guests

I never really met any characters in my hotel last time (sequoia lodge) but i'd like to next time in NPB. I did notice last time that it was mostly Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore, Mickey and Goofy.
Are they generally ok with you walking around other hotels taking photos? Becuase we'd like to see the Disneyland Hotel and have a look around the lobby etc.

As I said above, we experienced no problems when we were in the Disneyland taking photos last week, so it should be perfectly ok.

We normally have at least one day visiting the hotels as well as our daily parking at HNY. You do not even have to be staying in a Disney hotel to be visiting the others

I have to admit we always take a look in the DLH, it's just beautiful We met Goofy wandering around outside the back of the Hotel Cheyenne on the first evening we arrived back in June, my dd just didn't know what to make of him and we didn't see any other characters until the day we were leaving when they had Woody out the front and he was then replaced by Mickey at which point my dd (who had just turned 2) left go off my hand and crawled under the ropes to get to the front of the queue to meet him ... it was superb

When we stayed at the Cheyenne in June, Mickey was at the Chuck Wagon when we were having dinner about 5pm ish, I think he'd come from hotel lobby so was probably doing a little meet and greet there. A few days later we saw chip and dale outside where the play area etc is and it was around the time. We never noticed any signs or anything to say when they would be there though.

Ooh i'm pleased about that then! Didnt wanna be looking around and feel awkward lol I cant wait! It'll be great to see what its like. Hopefuly might see some characters too depending on what time it is.

The characters in SL come between 8.30-10.30, they change every half hour. So far, we've had Goofy, Mickey, Pooh, Eeyore, Pluto, Chip & Dale. They usually put the photos up in the evenings so everyone can see which ones are coming in the morning. Sometimes there's a character wandering around the hotel around 4pm and in the evenings we've met Robin Hood and Chip & Dale dressed in different outfits. The photo session is near the play area and it's quite nice.

We've met Minnie in Cheyenne and Newport Bay again in the morning. We tend to spend a lot of time in the parks so haven't had a chance to be in the hotel in the afternoon to meet any of the other ones...

At the Santa Fe, they have a notice board up just past the reception desk, and often have a little billboard out in the middle of the reception area too, telling you who will be at the hotel meet n greet in the mornings, from 8am for a couple of hours. I've seen Minnie, Mickey, Goofy, Pluto and Donald there. Also in the evenings, in the Cantina restaurant, Goofy is around a lot, from 7.30pm. We also saw Pluto there last time we stayed there. They spent absolutely ages clowning around and high-fiving diners .

Similar thing at the Cheyenne - their notice board is just at the entrance to the Chuck Wagon restaurant, before the restroom area. We passed Mickey and Goofy one morning there on our way to the parks, my Dniece has also seen Jessie there.

thanks all, at least i know i wont look a weirdo prowling around the hotels and takin pics lol think dlh might be best best for characters at 4pm, as with bein up n out early, we dont want to miss the emh!

when i stayed at the santa fe in may we say goofy and also stitch who was dressed in elvis type outfit he was great with the kids. they has a board up and i thik meet times were about 7.30/8 am in reception then in the restaurant in the evening.

You can meet Disney Characters in each Hotel from 07.00 to 12.00
Somes rares Characters has arrived at the Disneyland Hotel as Max, Flash McQuack, and even Disney Princesses (but it's extremely rare)

And, there a Happening at 16.00 in each hotel where you can meet some Characters.
