Characters at Disneyland Hotel at 4pm

I saw this mentioned on another thread, can someone fill me in? I assume you do not have to be a resident to take part?

We went on our last trip and saw quiet a few characters it was very busy this was a Sunday though!

I think you can also meet characters in Disneyland Hotel every morning near inventions and dont need to be a hotel guest!

No you don't have to be staying there, it was on our list last time but we never got there. I know it doesn't happen every day, so make sure you check.

its usually weekends, possibly Thursday to Sunday, in the main lobby of the Disneyland Hotel at 4pm. Its great - we were there on a Sunday and we didn't find it too busy, and you can meet around half a dozen characters and have photos and autographs with them in less than about 15 minutes total .

Little children get invited to dance and play games with the characters before they start doing photos/autographs etc.

Sorry to slightly hijack a thread. As well as this opportunity in the DLH at 4pm, am I right in thinking that there are usually/often characters in other hotels around breakfasttime?

At HNY from 8.00am till 10.00am, change every 30 mins

It starts at 8 AM in most hotels. I think I've seen 7.45 or even 7.30 at DLH. Also I'm pretty sure I've seen longer times than 10 AM though in hotel New York. I got my photo taken with Daisy before the last pin event and that was definitely after 11.

The costumes sometimes vary - Goofy will for example wear a cowboy outfit in Hotel Cheyenne, but I've seen him in some uniform in Sequoia Lodge.

It might have changed at the DLH but they used to advertise it on a board (stand up type thing) by the stairs (if I recall correctly) which days this would be on.

Embarrasingly enough, we stayed there twice and never made the 4pm meets as always so busy in the parks! As we won't be staying there this trip , we might make a beeline for this.

Our second trip to DLH, we definitely saw characters start at 7.30 am outside Inventions (breakfast restaurant), but that was technically still high summer season, although the very end. I can't recall them being there that early our first trip (which was end Sept, so quieter time).

Hasn't changed, the board with the info was still there in December.

and it was every day last week, but that could have been because of the extreme cold and the fact there were hardly any characters out in the park.
