Hi all!!!
I am hoping that some of you may be able to help me find this out, or point me in the right direction. At the minute we are still undecided whether to go with a wishes or escape wedding and one of the answers we can't seem to find (wedding far off so no planner as of yet to answee this lol) is where do the characters appear for an escape wedding? We would be getting married at the WP and then reception dinner at GF - maybe Citrico's. I have searched the web and found that you are only allowed half hour at the commanders terrace (which would have been an ideal location for the charcters) to cut the cake, toasts, first dance etc and so that doesn't really allow enough time - could we stretch this time to maybe 1 hour on the Terrace? If not, where can we have the characters turn up at, I presume they aren't allowed at the WP (after the ceremony) and if we have the meal at Citricos that isn't ideal either. The only other plan was to have the meal at the Whitehall room and patio and go straight there instead of the Commaders Terrace but we would only be doing this to accomodate the charcters! Sorry for the ramble but I would realy appreciate any help!:thumbsup2
Many thanks

Jo

Hi Jo,

Not sure if this will help you decide but I am just starting my planning and am having the same scenario... Ceremony at WP, celebration at GF and dinner at Citricos. I do not have a planner yet since I just sumbitted my paperwork but what I have been told so far is that if I would like characters they would go during the cake celebration.

They stay for 30 min. so they will take part of the cake cutting and toast etc... They could interact with your guest and take pictures while you are dancing your 1st dance. They will not extend your time on the terrece but I am sure if you go over by a couple minutes they won't make a big deal.

Here is my plan if this helps...
2:30 Ceremony
3:30-4pm Cake
5:30 Citricos (only time they will give you for a large group)

I hope this helps!!

Thanks for the reply! I suppose there would be enough time but didn't want it to feel too rushed, at the same time don't want to fork out for private dining in the whitehall room either lol! Looks like my time lime will be the same as yours then as we would like a 2.30pm wedding!!:flower3:

We had our Escape wedding just a month ago, with characters. They came to our cake cutting, did our first dance with us and lots of pictures after our 2.30 WP ceremony.

Our dinner was not until 6pm at The Boardwalk with a coach pick up from GF at 5.30. We hung around the terrace from the end of the celebration until then. They did clear the cake etc away but we just picked up drinks from the bar. I don't think it's a problem unless they have another wedding waiting to use it.

Thats great news! I suppose as the next wedding time isn't until 5.30pm then it mat be possible to stay a bit longer than the normal half hour anyway - well thats what I'm hoping anyway! Oh and congratulations!

I extended my time on the Commaders Terrace but I did pay for extra food and drink.

Hi Chilly , thanks for the response. Would you mind sharing how much the extra food and drinks cost asnd how much extra time you had?? Sorry for being nosy, rough estimates would be great!

Soft drinks were $4.50 each and fuit & dip was $8.75 per person plus tax etc.

We extended ours from half an hour to 1.5 hours.
