This trip was planned around our airfare deal. I found airfare round trip out of Detroit to Orlando for $92 per person so when I started looking at dates we figured we would celebrate my son's 10th birthday in Disney and travel September 14th - 21st.
Here is the cast:
My husband, Kirk. He is a Disney lover by association and has really grown into his role. He likes to hunt for characters and pin trade. He has been to Disney 5 times since 2008.
My oldest son, Kolton (10). He likes Disney, but is questioning how "cool" it is to travel there. He loves my parents farm so sometimes it takes a little convincing to get him to go. He has been to Disney 7 times since 2000.
My youngest son, Kody (8). He follows his mommy and loves Disney also. Toy Story characters are his favorite, especially Woody. He has a pony and loves all things cowboy. He has been to Disney 5 times since 2002.
Me - Jodi. Disney obsessed and I am proud of it. I read, watch, listen to everything Disney. I love to hunt for the characters and take in the magic. I have been to Disney 10 times since 2000.
Kirk does have 3 boys of his own but they did not travel with us this time. We took all the boys in May of 2010. We normally do take them but Kolton & Kody have been dealing with some issues with their father so this trip was for them. We also decided to attend Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party on September 14th.
Dining reservations are made and we decided to go with Caribbean Beach Resort for our stay. Kirk & I stayed there in January and we loved it. I contacted the boys' teachers as soon as possible to line up any homework. Everything was in place!
On September 13th we drove to Kirk's sisters house in Detroit since we live 2 1/2 hours from the airport and she only lives 20 minutes from there. Our flight leaves the next morning at 8:30am.
