For everyone who had characters -

How long did you have them come for?
I assumed that a half hour would be long enough - but now I am scared that it might not be. I figure that every family is going to want a picture with the characters - am I wrong to assume this? I just counted out a list of probably 30 shots - not including anything with the bridal party. I figure its got to take at least a minute to get a shot set up.

AHHHH going crazy. So I would really appreciate it if everyone could please share their experiences.

Also is there any sort of discounted rate to keep them for an hour instead of just the half hour?

We booked Minnie and Mickey for 30 minutes. We had enough time to dance quiet a few songs with them, have our 125 guests take LOTS of pictures with them, cut the cake and get a bunch of professional photos too!! To be honest, it really felt like they stayed for longer than 30 minutes (it's possible that they did). I don't think that the at the 30 minute mark they shuffle the characters out of there; I don't think that they make a big deal if you go over your 30 minutes.

We had Mickey and Minnie for 30 minutes, we danced with them about 120 of our guests wanted to dance with them, also take pics while cutting the cake We were able to take pics and they also had time to bring out a cake and sing Happy Birthday to my niece

30 minutes is plenty of time. They have some event coordinator organizing the pics taken with the guests

30 minutes seemed like forever when we had Mickey and Donald. Not everyone is going to want pictures with them. I am not even sure you can book them for an hour at a time but again I am not sure on that.

ETA: If they can do an hour, there will probably have to be a break in between because an hour in the costumes is a lot for them.

Thanks everyone for the quick responses. I feel so much better about it! I just want to be able to make sure that everyone who wants a picture gets one and since we are only having 50-60 guests hopefully it won't be a problem!

Toni I never thought about that but you are totally right!

The Character Union. Yes, Mickey has his own. ;-) they can only be in out greeting for 30 minutes at a time. I don't know anyhting about these "costumes" you speak of, but their tuxes are uncomfortable, I'm sure. If it's outside and above 80 they can only be out for 20 minutes....at least this is what I've heard from some good friends.

tee hee. This reminds me of a conversation my WC had with one of my SIL's at the wedding in regards to how hot Mickey and Minnie were in the 90 degree weather and everytime my SIL said something like "well, it must be very hot for them in those suits" Tanis would reply with a total straight face. "What suits?" This went on for quite a few mins and I don't think my SIL ever caught on to what Tanis was trying to do (which was basically not ruining the magic!) but I was standing with them and giggling the whole time!

It's no fun being a grown up!

:lmao: Yes she must have been refering to the tuxes and top hats and such. I think pluto is the only one who is lucky enough to get away without a costume.

I don't think we have to worry about 80 degrees in January but it would really really be great if we did! I am kind of hoping for a heat wave. As long as everyone who wants one gets a picture I am happy.

I would LOVE to see pictures! Mushu sounds awesome since you never really get to see him in the parks. He is one of hte only characters whose autograph I am missing.

I got pics with Mushu on my last trip in Epcot at China! there was like no line to see him, we walked right up, it was awesome!
