I don't know much about the characters. Where to meet them and all that. Actually I love to see people lined up to get pics and autographs with the characters. It just means those people will not be in a line I may be heading for. Of course I would assume that Mickey::MickeyMo and Minnie::MinnieMo are the big favorites, followed by Donald Duck, Goofy, Pluto. The list goes on and on. They are everywhere in the parks! Or it seems so to me. Out of curiosity, which characters are the hardest find. Are there any elusive characters out there? One you just never seem to get that picture with?

P.S. I hope I didn't offend anyone when I said Mickey and Minnie were the "big favorites." It was just an observation.

I am a HUGE character fan, and when I am at WDW pretty much all I do is look for them! Last trip I think I only hit a handful of rides, I kid you not! :teeth:

In my humble opinion, here are some of the really rare characters, and if you see them - GET THEM QUICK!!! You may never see them again!

Phoebus and Quasimodo - not super common but around

Jiminy Cricket - really rare! Been seen recently in Epcot though.

Rebecca Cunningham - a female bear from Tail Spin show, very rarely seen at Magic Kingdom

Little John - tall bear in green clothes from Robin Hood, hardly ever out at Magic Kingdom

Rare Boyfriends/Princes - Snow White Prince, John Smith, and Prince Philip. Also Bert from Mary Poppins not super common

Jane Porter - rarely out at Animal Kingdom

Any dwarf but Dopey! (Grumpy, Happy, Doc, Sleepy, Sneezy, Bashful)

Rare villians and Special Halloween-time characters - Big Bad Wolf, Scrooge, Snow Witch, Pain, Panic, Goliath, Malificent, Stromboli

'Defunct' movie characters - B.E.N., Jim Hawkings, Anyone from Atlantis and Emperor's New Groove, men from Mulan

I'm sure there are some other really rares that I can't think of! But finding a really rare character just makes our trip at WDW! :teeth: :teeth: Most recent trip we met the Snow Prince and John Smith for the 1st time. :) :)

See my sig. for some character pix. :teeth: The Genie is in the back of Moroccan pavilion at Epcot, NO ONE was there to meet him when we stumbled upon him! Sulley and Mike were at MGM in a little alcove with a big door that opened out of nowhere, we got lucky and were one of the first ones in line-a big line formed behind us! :) Mickey is everywhere, we had pix taken with him at each park, but the other characters are more fun to find. Have fun!

A few kind of "rare" ones that I have been with is that guy from Pocahontas, not John Smith but the guy who owns the pug dog.

Baloo
Musho (sp?) from Mulan
Genie and Aladdin
Prince John
Frolo

Once, many moons ago, I saw all seven dwarfs and Snow White together in MK :earseek: . My dad, however, insisted we rush off to some ride because they'd be there later. Were they? Of course not, so no picture and no autographs for me. I've never seen all 7 dwarfs together again except in the parades:( Mind you, I'm 21 yo now and have never forgotten this trauma lol

I think that's Governor Ratcliffe. :)

A popular character, but is not all over the parks is Donald Duck. He can definitely be seen at his breakfast over in AK, but you really don't see him just out and about in the parks. Donald is on the short side and I believe that the person who dresses as him has to be under 5" tall or something close to that, so that makes him a little more rare than other characters.

I would LOVE to get a pic with Pain and Panic!!!!

Where would I be most likely to find them? Is there any way to find out at least a day ahead of time which characters are scheduled to be out in the parks? I might change my schedule to be at a particular park when a particular character is out...

2 characters that we saw recently that we'd never seen before were Donald Duck (he was on the Ferry to the MK with Pluto, Mickey, & Minnie one morning) and Jiminy Cricket. Jiminy was at EPCOT one afternoon in Future World. We were pretty surprised to see him. With the popularity of the new Mickey's Philharmagic in the MK, I think we'll be seeing a lot more of Donald now. I noticed much more Donald merchandise as well.

That's funny, we always seem to see Donald, Daisy, too. Maybe we're just lucky. We found them both in Epcot on the character bus together, and we've seen them at AK in Camp Minnie-Mickey.

Anybody ever seen Gaston? Is he a face character?

We saw Cinderella's Fairy Godmother a few years ago in MGM. Saw Liver Lips and Wendell in April. Had no idea what they were connected with until I researched when we returned home (Country Bear Jamboree). Piglet used to be a rare character and only appeared in Holiday parades, but we have seen him in UK (Epcot) and MGM. Launchpad McQuack we first encountered over 10 years ago. Saw him again in April. Very cool as it brought about wonderful memories of our now teenager when she was 2! Love those characters. We always have our books with us!

:smooth:

HugsForEyeore, where did you see him ?

He is the very favorite to my son who is handicapped. We met once in the Soundstage Character Meal many years ago.

We were priviledged to go backstage at the Hunchback Musical Show to meet him and take photos with him. But the show is gone and I know he will be looking for him. We leave on Sunday.

Where has someone seen Quasimodo ?

we have seen quasimoto in EPCOT; at the pavillion in France...

For us, one of the most rare "classic" characters has always been Daisy Duck...have seen her in the parades and character buses and such, but, not too often in regular meet and greet situations.

We have seen Gastone before, and yes, he is a "face" character...

We also saw all 7 of the dwarfs together at World Showcase in EPCOT: in front of Germany(along with Snow White)..

You all have your characters down! I only know the classic characters. And not many of them either, I guess. Liver Lips, Wendell, Gastone, Launchpad McQuack, Governor Ratcliffe, Pain and Panic, Phoebus, Rebecca Cunningham, Jane Porter, Stromboli. I wouldn't know these characters if they walked up to me. I think the only Disney pic I've seen since childhood has been the Lion King. Animated pics that is. But I know Jiminy Cricket! So maybe I'll look for him. Thanks to all of you for your replies.

I met Pain and Panic at Mickey's Halloween Party in early October of last year, right in Town Square where you enter Magic Kingdom. They even sign autographs! :teeth: Unfortunately, Pain and Panic are very rare and hardly ever in the parks for meets and greets. When you go to WDW, you can always ask at Guest Services at any park or resort for the "Chip Hotline", which is a phone number that castmembers can call to check for a specific character. BUT - I find the Chip Hotline is really best for popular characters who are pretty regular, but certainly worth a try! Unfortunately I understand that the Chip Hotline is only good for the current day, so I don't think you can ask ahead of time (that would be wonderful thing, though!) If you can't make a Halloween party and just want to 'wander around', then the Big Hat at MGM would be the best place to check, since other Hercules characters meet there (Hercules, Meg, Phil). :) :) :)

We saw Quasimodo three weeks ago at the Big Hat at MGM, along with Phoebus! :) We also seen him at Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom, by Ariel's Grotto. And I think France in Epcot is another place to see him. But I do believe he is not often at the parks, so it's really hit-or-miss. Sure hope you do meet him!!! :) :)

Thank you for your sighting locations for Quasi !

Once we get to the parks, I will ask as well
