Character Parades through the GF?

We just heard from some friends (who just got back) that Disney is now doing character parades at the Disney resorts. We are staying at the Grand Floridian and wanted to know if anyone can share how this works. When is it? Where is it? Is it crowded, etc. Appreciate any tips you have!...Thanks!

it sounds like the character caravan that has taken place of EE. I bleieve Deb's site www.wdwig.com has the most recent info for the character caravan days and times for each resort.
