Character Meet & Greet FP+ question

Our FP+ window opens in a week (yay!!!). We are a party of 4 adults and one child. Most of the attractions we will need FP+ for, my daughter (6) does not want to ride so we will be swapping out. There's no point using her selections for those rides, so would I be able to select meet and greet attraction Fastpasses for her only, and still be able to accompany her if I don't have a FP+ for the meet and greet?

Everyone who goes through the line for a meet and greet needs a FP (well, other than a child under three who wouldn't have a ticket).

Plus I believe they need to be 7 to enter the line alone.

That's what I figured! Thanks!
If she won't ride, utilize Rider Swap.

Two adults use FPs to ride first and then on the swap, 3 adults get to ride by entering the FP line. No need to schedule FPs for the complete group.

Ask for the Rider Swap pass at the entrance to the FP line. By using Rider Swap, you can book more rides because the 2 who ride on the Swap don't need to book FPs for that specific ride.

I didn't think about that, thanks for the tip!

Rider Swap only works if the child is not tall enough to ride, so check the height requirements before you plan. At 6, she's probably tall enough for most rides.

That isn't true. Any group of guests can request a Rider Swap pass if one member chooses not to ride and another member of the group must remain with them and misses out on the first ride.

I've been told multiple times (on this forum) that the non-rider needs to be too short, not just unwilling. I'd be thrilled if that's not the case, because I have a tall but unwilling daughter and would love to use her for Rider Swap!

This is from the Disney Website regarding Rider Switch and will be to your benefit:

What Is Rider Switch and How Does It Work?
If Guests in your party can’t or don’t want to board an attraction, you don’t have to miss out!

If a child does not meet the height requirement or a Guest does not wish to board a particular attraction, no problem! With Rider Switch, one adult can wait with the non-rider (or riders) while the rest of the party enjoys the attraction. When the other adult returns, they can supervise the non-riding Guests, and the waiting adult can board the attraction without having to wait in the regular line again!
