I am going to DL for the first time at the beginning of August and I am hoping someone can tell me where all of the character meet and greets are. I know Mickey and Minnie at their houses. I am looking to see what characters are out and where they are located. I am really into meeting the characters and I dont want to miss any..

I believe you can get a list from City hall at the beginning of Main street that tells where and when characters will be out. Some are very random and you just have to be lucky. There is also pixie hollow where you can meet Tink and or her friends but be ready to stand in line a while. Same with PFF where you meet some princesses but the lines are always very long. We did meet Ariel this week on the side of the castle and were lucky enough to see her before the line for long and I have read on here that other princesses randomly appear around the castle like that.

Merida has a spot right by small world and the lines have been long for that this week as well.

We regularly see Winnie the Pooh and Tigger at a Meet & Greet near the exit of Pooh and entrance of Splash Mountain. There is a scheduled time they are there, but your daily map/info they give you at the turnstiles should tell when it is. We also have had good luck seeing the Brer Fox/Bear characters in that same area just roaming around, they were easy to get photos with.

I believe, in Toontown Mickey and Minnie are there, I am not sure if there are places year round that change, though I have consistently seen characters in the ToonTown area, I have also seen them in the New Orlean's Square area, there is a line there where they have certain characters there but they are dressed in like Mardi Gras like outfits but this was in April, may be different in August.. I met Chip and Dale, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy and I forgot what Princess there.

They also have a character breakfast at the Plaza Inn, I think you have to get a reservation for that:

Not sure how late you are planning, but I like to close the park and have found the Evil Queen, Cruela De Vil, Rafiki and even Mickey Mouse in the town square.

When we were there last week, every morning, afternoon and some evenings there were a LOT of them just inside the gates on main st. We saw mickey, minnie, goofy, pluto, donald, chip & dale, the white rabbit from Alice and wonderland, peter pan, and I think there was another couple that I cant think of. Pooh and Tigger are usually by the Pooh ride.

Are the characters usually accompanied by the photopass photographers? I am considering getting a photopass for the August trip and wonder if it takes lots of efforts to get pictures taken by the photographers.

Thanks for the info!!

I definitely recommend getting the photopass and have as many pics taken by the photographers as possible - even without characters. When I was there is April, they had a Value Pack available in the photo store for $59 I got a Disneyland Photo Gallery CD and a Disney Photopass Photo CD (voucher so I could order the photocd after I got home and edited all the pictures). It was definitely worth it.

We saw most of the characters randomly. As previously mentioned there are the set meet and greets: Princess Fantasy Faire, Tangles, Pixie Hollow, Merida, Toy Story (in CA). We also saw many characters in ToonTown during the ToonTown early entry pass that came with our tickets. We saw: Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Chip & Dale. We also saw many princesses near the castle. We made it a part of our day to walk past the castle often to see if we could catch anyone there. Some of the characters will have photopass photographers and some won't, so have your camera ready too. In CA it seemed that Mickey and Minnie were there at times and Goofy was near Goofy's Sky School.

Even if a photopass photographer is near, they cannot take pictures of Mary Poppins and Bert. I was told that Julie Andrews owns the copyright to them and doesn't allow it.

During our trip we saw:

Aladdin (Goofy's Kitchen)
Alice in Wonderland (Town Square)
Ariel (Near Castle)
Buzz Lightyear (Changed Characters just as we got there so no signature)
Chip & Dale (saw them many times throughout both parks)
Cinderella (Near Castle)
Perla (Near Castle - she is one of the mice with Cinderella)
Donald Duck (Toon Town)
Eeyore (Critter Country)
Evil Queen (Near Castle)
Fairy Godmother (Near Castle)
Gepetto (Town Square)
Goofy (Goofy's Kitchen, Toon Town, Goofy's Sky School, Town Square)
Jesse (Toy Story)
Mad Hatter (Town Square)
Mary Poppins & Bert (Town Square and Near Castle)
Mickey Mouse (Toon Town, Town Square and in CA, but I don't remember the location)
Minnie Mouse (Goofy's Kitchen, Toon Town, Town Square, near the Airplane in CA)
Mulan (Goofy's Kitchen, PFF)
Pinnocchio (Town Square)
Pluto (Goofy's Kitchen)
Princess Aurora (Near Castle, PFF)
Rapunzel (Tangled)
Rosetta (Pixie Hollow)
Snow White (PFF, Near Castle)
Tigger (Critter Country)
Tinkerbell (Pixie Hollow)
White Rabbit (Town Square but he left right before we got his signature)
Winnie the Pooh (Critter Country)
