Hi

Can someone give me an idiots guide to the best options for character meals please? I am thinking it will be a good way to see the characters but I'm getting really confused over the best way to do it. My initial thought was breakfast but then we get breakfast at the hotel so why pay again???

Thanks

You should check out the link below. There is info on the character dining experiences and costs:

While it's true that you already get breakfast at your hotel, I think most would agree that you get a very different, more special interaction when you do a character dining experience.

The sunday brunch in particular at inventions is very special and you will experience the best character interaction in the parks here - every table is given time with the characters for photos and autographs, so if you budget will allow I'd give it a go.

Breakfast depends on the hotel you are in. If you're staying at the DLH or HNY I personally wouldn't bother with a character breakfast.

Also, depends on your budget. I think character meals at DLP are very limited these days - there used to be more, but they stopped them.

Options really are:

Cafe Mickey - lunch or dinner (or breakfast) - this can be as cheap as you like as you just order off the menu - no set meal you have to buy/or set price. Plenty order a pizza and side between two. Have to say, don't rate the food that much (and it is still expensive for what you get tbh), but the character interaction makes up for it! :goodvibes

Auberge - Princess meal - very expensive but good if you have little ones who like Princesses. I like the food but it is haute cuisine and isn't to everyone's taste. The restaurant is lovely inside - all little touches.

Inventions - do a dinner, and brunch on a Sunday. Also, sometimes doing a character lunch - need to check this for your dates with the dining res line. Buffet meal, expensive but usually good quality food, lots of choice and characters are usually very good. Brunch is more expensive but tends to be themed so you can sometimes know what you are going to get in advance if you book that - although not always!!

hth.

I wouldn't do Cafe Mickey character breakfast, no matter where I was staying, if breakfast is included in the price of your hotel. Its not good value for money compared with lunch or dinner there, as you are charged per person, there is no different price for a child compared with an adult.

Lunch or dinner, sharing pizza and sides etc from the a la carte menu at Cafe Mickey, is great value for money, if you want to see characters in a non-scrum setting, and have a meal at the same time. Its not fabulous haute cuisine food, think pub meal style or pizza hut, but if your focus is the characters rather than the food, Cafe Mickey could suit you very well (we've done lunch and dinner there several times over the years, and I haven't ruled it out for this coming trip either ;)).

Thanks for all the responses. I think it's going to be lunch or dinner then. Will I need to book? We're going the weekend before Xmas so I imagine it will be a little busy! And how do I go about booking it?

I love that everyone is so helpful on here!

yes, phone up (you can do so at 60 days before your trip) to book your table, it only costs the price of the phone call (French landline) - the number is 0033 160 304050.

Perfect thanks. It's a surprise for my other half so I'll have to remember to do it when he goes out.
