We always enjoyed the character meals that feature the traditional Disney characters like
Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Pluto, and Chip 'n Dale.

we do as well, i would never ask to remove the fab 5 character meal! The possibility to have one of the others would be sweet.

Even toy story?!?

There is a contractual obstacle to having Marvel meals in the parks. I'm not sure of the exact contract language and if there would be a problem with having them in the resorts. No one here has that knowledge.

I think there will be a Star Wars character meal coming at some point. It might be a while but I would bet on one coming within the next decade.

Other then that the Fab 5 and maybe Stitch are what you have.

My understanding is that when Disney bought Marvel they agreed not to put the characters in the park as they're still present in Universal. It was part of the deal, so to speak. I suppose that means there won't be Marvel character meal.

On the flip side, a Star Wars meal would be awesome! I'd love to see Disney utilize the Star Wars fandom a little more!

One word...Universal. Much more appealing to boys IMO.

i am sure it is.. YET. Disney is our "home" we may visit US at the end of our Disney trip this year.

would still be awesome for a more boyish meal at Disney.

Thanks for clearing up the Marvel, and why they aren't there. :goodvibes

Toy story? Incredibles?!? Monsters?.. Then again Sully is really big. back to pirates?

Ohhh A villain dinner...

For the life of me, I cannot figure out why Disney has not put in some sort of Pixar character meal - Toy Story, the Incredibles, Monsters Inc, etc. It would appeal to both girls and boys, and would be a great alternative to the princesses!

John Lasseter has said pretty much from the beginning of Pixar's relationship with Disney that Pixar characters would not do character dining experiences. To my knowledge, there are no Pixar character meals anywhere, globally. I'm sure Disney would love to get those characters into dining, as they'd be sure to make mucho money.

:earsboy:

I knew it had to be something like this. There was just no logical explanation for it otherwise. Disney would make a killing on a Toy Story themed character meal. All you have to do is look at the lines for those characters in the parks.

I would cut somebody for a chance to have a Star Wars meal! (Not really...but you get the idea!) :)

LOL, my five year old son LOVES Sofia and finds Jake boring.

That said, I would eat in a Star Wars cantina EVERY day.

I would love to eat in a Star Wars Cantina! Bring it on WDW! (and my kids are all grown up)

We were just talking about this the other day. A Toy Story or Incredibles meal would make a killing! There has to be some sort of Pixar-related issue that's preventing it. Otherwise, there's no rational explanation for not doing it.

Of course, if it was a Pixar issue, then Disney could still do something like a Peter Pan themed meal. Peter, Wendy, Tinkerbelle, and Captain Hook? That would be AWESOME.

Or Aladdin, Genie, and Abu? Phineas and Ferb? There has to be SOMEthing else they can do. After just two trips, we've pretty much hit all the character meals, some more than once. To be honest, as much as we love them all, we're just not super excited about dining with the classic five, or Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, and Ariel anymore. We'd love some new options!

Marvel would be hard due to the Universal's contract thingy. WDW can't make good use of their Marvel ownership because of Universal, and I don't think that Universal is giving that up anytime soon. However, if they did a Star Wars character meal I'd probably eat there every night, no questions asked.

:lmao: :thumbsup2 :darth: could you image Yoda bringing you coffee??

Oh thank God i wasn't the only one who thought this! i beginning to think i was the only one!!!

What a SHAME Pixar won't be able to do meals!!! BUMMER!!!

This is why i posted the question i knew all of you would know the answers. So thank you!

bring on some star wars and pirates. the Pirate cruise doesn't take DDP so that's out.. :rotfl2: especially when i am going towards the dessert party.

I like the Peter Pan idea too.. that could be fun! Like the GF dinner with the step sisters kinda fun!!!

Man, if they took Pizza Planet and did a Character Lunch session there with Buzz, Woody, and Jessie, that would be fantastic! (Plus a double dip for Disney, IMO. Kids would want to play the games, get pics with the characters, and devour food. Can't go wrong there!)

Don't even get me started on how badly I'd kick a fuss for a Villains Dinner at say, the Underworld (a-la Hades), or a wicked dark castle built specifically for Villain experiences with a shopping spot in MK, and a ride nearby to showcase one of them. Sigh. A girl can dream...

It seems this gets brought up every 6 weeks or so. I am a mom to 4 boys, and 2 girls. For my experience the. "shelf life" if you will, on 'boy' things is relatively shot compared to that of girls, And I am sure the demographic research that Disney has done probably bares this out.
At least 15 years ago, there was a Villains character meal at 1900 Park Fare, and before Playhouse Disney Live happened, it was the Soundstage Restaurant that had character dining, at the time it was characters from recently released Disney features, I would like to see something like that again, it could have characters from recent releases!
Of course Star Wars would be so awesome!
