Is it cheaper to buy your character meals through your travel package (costco) or when you get there. I have not been able to find the prices for lunch or dinners. I am thinking of adding Ariel's Grotto and Goofy's Kitchen. On Costco they are about $90.00 for my family of 4.

Thanks in advance.

$90 for a family of four strikes me as a good deal. IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY (which at my age is not likely!), it was $27/person. I may look into this for my family trip for my DD's b'day later this month!

I agree, $90 for seems cheaper than walk up prices. I think the PPH "Aloha Breakfast" was around $25 per person last November.

I think the prices are the same. We paid $91 at the M&F breakfast I think, last week, 2 adults, 2 kids.

It is cheaper on Costco, but funny thing today while I was starting to book ressies, the price kept changing from $90. something to $105 then 111. weird. I thought I heard somewhere else that you could buy the character meals ahead of time without a package. Hopefully someone will chime in about this. :confused3

You can buy the meal vouchers from ARES travel without purchasing a package.

Breakfast with Minnie is $30/$16
Ariels Grotto is $33/$18
Goofy's Kitchen is $38/$16

I have been considering buying them since the vouchers include tax and tip.

you can also purchase thru getaway today vacations (getawaytoday.com) i dont remember how much cheaper but definately cheaper than at the resort (Goofy's is up to $45.00 per adult). Hope this helps.

Getawaytoday was a few $$ more than Ares. Also on both sites the breakfast is for any character breakfast, not just Minnie.

3minnies1mickey thanks for that, we have a trip planned in September and we are celebrating 3 birthdays during that trip so we were trying to figure how to afford 3 diff character meals witha group of 18 people. I will check out ares now.

No problem. ARES has a convenience fee, but even with it ARES was about $8 cheaper for 4 adults and 2 kids. I got Ariel Dinner for $33 and Goofy Brunch for $30!

Would they do a "will call" situation where they would have the tickets waiting? We are leaving tomorrow night! I'd love to try Lilo & Stitch breakfast! ; ) Kelly

So if I am figuring all of this out correctly, it's cheaper to buy the vouchers on Ares for Ariel's Grotto even with our Deluxe AP discount.

I just called Disney Dining and was told that AG would be $40.01 for adults and $22.50 for kids (includes tax and gratuity). This is for our mid-November trip BTW, currently it's $45 something and $20 for kids.

So for two adults and a child I still save a few bucks getting the vouchers. Am I missing something? :confused3

I might be wrong but L & S might be cheaper paying when you get there then ordering the vouchers ~ call Disney Dining and check the price and then check Ares or GAT for their CM breakfast vouchers. L & S does have a menu you can order from as well ~ check out http://allears.net/dlr/din/menu/menus.htm#dl

Ares has a Print your voucher option. I'm not sure how long it take for them to email them to you.

Ares is super quick. You can order your vouchers in about 2 minutes, and then print them instantly, or send them to an email and print them at a later date. The email goes out immediately.

So is this how the vouchers work? You buy them online and print out the vouchers but still call and get PS. Then when you get there you hand over the vouchers at time of payment instead of money.

Has anyone had any issues with them accepting the vouchers or are they a common thing to use?

I need an Ares tutorial...where do you find the Character Meals? Thanks!!!

Where it says Plan Your Trip, I clicked on the Activity tab and typed Disneyland into the location field. Then I clicked on Disneyland Area and hit submit. Scroll down and the character meals options are there. :thumbsup2

Thanks! Found it :)

So, just verifying b/c my brain is not working today...this is a cheaper deal then using my AP or AAA discount, right?
