Character meals worth it solo

I am a kid at heart and I love disney more than anything. Is it worth going to character meals as a solo person will they still come around

I do it all the time. Go have fun. They will definitely come around. If one seems to pass you by let your server and/or the character handlers know. They will get them to come back to you.

Of all the meals to enjoy solo, I would say Character meal are right there at the top. Go and enjoy!

Absolutely! I have done many solo - TH, Cape May, Chef Mickey, 1900PF. Usually I make friends with the table next to me and they help me get pictures

Sure-go for it! We are a group of all adults and do many character meals. As long as you express interest in the characters as they come by, they will stop and interact!! Have fun!

Yes, they will visit. Depending on how busy they are, they might spend a little extra time with you. Enjoy! I will be solo in late November and have 2 character meals scheduled!

Love the character meals on a solo trip. I get them all to myself! No, the don't avoid single adult diners. I had a great time with Donald once...until that DAISY came along! ....and it was all going so well!

I had the same hesitation this past December I was in town for a wedding in Orlando and needed a little Disney, but didn’t have time to do a park. I ended up going to the Boardwalk and doing the Bon Voyage breakfast at Trattoria Al Forno with Rapunzel, Flynn Rider, Ariel, and Prince Eric. They were all attentive, so much so that at one point Prince Eric sat at my empty seat for a quick chat! It was fun and I was not made to feel uncomfortable at any point by any cast member.

I love character meals! I’m going on my first solo trip in January. I’m a little nervous but I’m planning for at least one character meal a day. When I travel with my parents they don’t mind a few character meals so we do maybe 3-4 at the most but I decided this time it was all character meals! I’m splurging on the DXDP to make it happen though.

I had some of the best character interaction on a solo trip in January at Tusker house. Donald was amazing! He wanted to eat with me and sat down and and started banging his silverware on the table. it was hilarious. His attendant kept telling him he couldn't eat and when she finally got him away, he would start to sneak away and run back to sit and bang his silverware again. Everyone in the area was laughing. It was great!

I have several character meals lined up for my upcoming solo trip. Do the characters have someone that take along with them that will take pics for me using my phone? I won't have the photo pass & I have short arms, so selfies are so hard for me! Lol

The characters will have someone (a character handler), not sure they are allowed to take your picture. Sometimes our server as offered to take a picture. What we have been doing is, the table next to us we offer to take a family\ group picture of them and then ask them if they would mind taking your picture. Never been refused!!!!

I've been to a lot of character meals. Sometimes there has been a character handler, sometimes not. When there is one, they tend to roam around between the characters, so they may be elsewhere when you need a picture. If they are nearby, they can take the picture for you. Or, if your server is nearby and not too busy, they can take your picture, but I've found that often the server is too busy and/or not in the area. After doing many character meals solo and with others, I've found I prefer going with someone, as then you can take pictures for each other and you don't have to keep finding someone else to do that. If you're really outgoing and not shy about asking the people at the next table, that can also work. (If you're the type who would feel awkward asking this, you probably already know that you are. The people at the next table would likely be glad to help, and you can do the same for them.)

I had a great time at Tusker House a few years ago meeting Donald, Daisy, Goofy and Mickey. Goofy especially was a fun interaction. They had handlers so I got pics with my phone.

ETA: Another thing that was fun about it was people watching and seeing their interactions with others before they came to me. I'd say go for it!
