Its been a while since we went to DLR. Which restaurants have characters dunring a meal. Which characters are at these restaurants. What are your preferences? Thanks!

This thread (our character meal photo & information thread) might give you an idea of which characters you will find at each character meal:

At Ariel's Grotto in California Adventure, you can dine with the Princesses for breakfast or lunch. It's only Princesses, though.

At Minnie & Friends in Disneyland, you will meet Minnie, sometimes Chip, Dale, Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, and a wide variety of other characters (Minnie & Friends has more characters than the other restaurants).

At Goofy's Kitchen in the Disneyland Hotel, there is a very large buffet for breakfast or dinner. Goofy's has the largest selection of food out of all the meals. You will usually see Goofy, Chip, Dale, sometimes Baloo, usually a couple of Princesses and any number of rotating characters.

At Storytellers Cafe Critter Breakfast in the Grand Californian Hotel, you will see Chip, Dale, Koda, Kenai and sometimes Terk, Meeko and maybe a Brer character or two - generally, any woodsy or jungly Disney characters. You can order off a menu or get the small buffet.

At Surfs Up with Mickey and Friends in the Paradise Pier Hotel, this is the only character meal where Mickey can be found. You will also see Stitch, Minnie, sometimes Goofy or Pluto and Daisy Duck.

My preference is the Goofy's Kitchen breakfast (not the dinner). Yummy buffet, wide selection of food, classic characters, fun environment. But other folks prefer Minnie & Friends because there are so many characters!! Some folks like the Critter Breakfast for its laid back, earthy kind of atmosphere.

If we could only do one character meal, it would be Minnie & Friends. We book it as a late seating for breakfast and treat it as brunch. We get in a lot of rides beforehand and our family is ready for a break by the time of our reservation. Our children LOVE it there!

Last week we saw Minnie, Chip, Dale, Eeyore, Tigger, Captain Hook, the Fairy Godmother, and Winnie the Pooh. We had lots to eat, plenty to drink, and we weren't rushed at all. Plus we were right in the center of the park and didn't have to leave the fun to get to our meal. It was wonderful! This was our second time there and we'll definitely we back.

We've done Ariel's Grotto twice and I've disliked it each time and so has my husband. Unfortunately our daughter loves the princesses and begs to eat "with" them. Ugh.

We just went to Minnie's last weekend and saw Chip, Dale, Captain Hook, Tigger, Eeyore, White Rabbit, Rafikki, Max and Minnie. We enjoyed the character interaction but the food was not great.

About two weeks ago, I attended Ariel's Grotto for a 10:10 breakfast session.
I have to say, I had a blast! The meal was huge for 3 little women like my family (eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, all different types of cheeses, fruit, bagels, pastry) and the Princesses were really great about spending time with the little ones and making their trips the best ever. The best Princess visitor was Belle, because she really took the time and made every table feel special.

We had Ariel (at the entrance), Belle, Aurora, Snow White and Cinderella for breakfast, when I was only expecting maybe two other Princesses in addition to Ariel.

It's definitely more for those who love the Princesses, want to specifically meet Ariel (like me - silly fangirl), and for the younger princesses in our lives.

I went to Goofy's Kitchen YEARS ago (13yrs) and I loved it then! I told Donald all about the blisters on my feet and had a right laugh with the Mad Hatter. It's definitely a fun restaurant with more characters!

I really like the "Minnie & Friends" character breakfast at the Plaza Inn. I haven't done the Ariel's Grotto, but I have done a couple of hotels in the past and I prefer Minnie & Friends. There are more characters. I like the food. The only issue is, you are eating in the park when you could be doing other stuff. Still, it's my favorite.

We have eaten at Minnie's and really enjoyed the atmosphere, characters and food. Next week we are trying Storytellers for the first time. Just curious, is there any way to get a discount (besides with an AP, we have those).
