Character meal with Anna and Elsa

I completely agree. There is no Al Weiss or Frank Wells. There is no 80s Eisner. We have Iger and then staggs who will likely continue the current strategy. The 5 billion dollar Shanghai resort in which Disney doesn't have as much control as many think will be igers legacy.

Easy there, chief...

Al Weiss practically had "craftsman" stamped on him...
As did lee cockerell...that is real experience talking

Lets not get crazy

If you want to know the truth... Eisner was a New York/east coast guy and always gravitated to it...

Iger...a "new York" guy...seems to detest it.

Why Disneyland... Which needed it but still...gets 10x the care, attention, and tlc that the big brother property that dwarfs it in size, potential, and revenue...
Is beyond logic.

Unless you just don't want to leave LA to entertain...

Go figure from a straight, boring TV guy.

While I never really experience their disney all I can go off of is what I hear and read. Disneyland has and always will get a huge amount of attention due to its locale, and proximity to HQ. Under Eisner at least early on WDW was treated much better than it is today. The TDO management didn't freak out and cancel or shorten refurbs because it would ruin someone's vacation. They wanted to produce a good show which is what is supposed to be part of the parks, putting on a good show for guests who will spend money. Things rarely sat empty and innovation was still happening. Based on what I've read Eisner had a desire to be like Walt and he tried. Of course not everything he did worked. He had some problems near the end of his career but in his prime he was as good as anyone. Iger's legacy will be on the acquisitions he made and Shanghai because he did much less in the stateside parks. The parks are more crowded and making more money than ever before but the guests seem to get much less in return for all that money they spent. Look at the disneyland diamond celebration, talk shows hosting from the resort, a prime time special, decor everywhere, new entertainment, shows, refurbed rides like never before. When WDW has a anniversary let's put out a t shirt and a pin.

thanks for hijacking the thread again guys. talk about circlejerking.

I can place a reliable bet that any thread in the rumors board has at least two of the same people constantly responding to each other with a ratio of 5:1 posts for anyone else.

Someone accused you guys of being Disney bashers in another thread and I believe the defense was that you were "realists".

After reading multiple threads, I saw more insults and bashing of Disney in your threads alone than I could count. Your definition of realism is quite jaded. You don't "love" Disney, you love what you think it should be. And not a single thing that has happened at the parks in the last decade appear to be what you think should have happened.

You are welcome to your opinions, but I just don't understand why you need to flood every thread with them repeatedly and then drown out anyone else who posts. 3, 4, even 5 psts in a row sometimes? Most boards have rules against that.

Just contribute something to talk about and save the first grade teacher routine...

We know they're doing a full frozen overlay with a massive meet and greet hall...we don't know what else they're doing...we don't know if any things going on at the restaurant.

That cover it?

Very classy comment, by the way.

You might want to dig just a touch deeper...instead of rephrasing "don't question bob Iger - the maker of dreams" 1,000 different ways.

Why contribute anything? If I, or anyone who disgarees with either of you, post anything then we get to come back to 12 posts that come down to two guys constantly slapping eachother on the back. Its like having two guys sitting in a room yelling about whatever they want as loudly as possible while drowning out every other single person.

God forbid anyone discuss epcot and NOT commiserate that it is going down the toilet because a boat ride got removed from it. By believing anything different we must obviously be Iger's pet monkeys or totally blind to what is coming. Doom I say! DOOM!

As usual, you seem to want to make this about something else (like iger), when this is about you and your inability to comment on anything without acting as though it is the downfall of Disney.

There is a reason multiple people liked my last post. It gets TIRING of hearing the same people constantly scream the same thing with the constant same remarks (if it is a pro Disney article, then Iger and Co must have sponsored it, if it's critical then it's worth reading) and the same doomsday predictions.

It doesn't really matter what this topic was about originally now, does it? Because anyone new coming along is either forced to read through 3 pages of which 2/3's of that are you and rteetz's replies or skip it to make their own comment which in turn gets another dozen or so replies from you guys.

Ok...I actually agree with most of what you're saying I know that I do get out of hand.

No argument.

But we are just of different opinion and we are falling on different sides of the sword. You honestly - no offense - dont deserve an apology for that.

One thing I don't typically do...and I'm conscious of it... Is go after the individual. You can't do that hear because some of the stuff is just ludicrous...on BOTH sides of the debates.

But you kinda did in this case and then went wounded animal. The way to avoid that is not to lecture...

Read, write, ignore, respond...keep it at that.

I tend to post in spurts when I have the time and then disappear... As I often do. I also read alot of the other boards and say nothing because I can't relate. It's a good policy.

The good thing is we actually have some dirt moving and have some things to talk about. I think downtown and animal kingdom will be drawing alot of threads as they should. My mind is not made up on those...some of the events that have happened do draw warranted skepticism...but that's not the important part moving forward.

But honesty - this frozen thing draws legitimate concern. And to try to say it doesn't just isn't very engaging. So while the threads twist... As they usually do - see the free dining ones - usually the topic is already talked out at this point. As this one is. And they fade away.

I fail to see how you interpret that as personal. What do I think in general? We all need to be better consumers and reject some of the approach that has been taken in Florida. Ask me again later, tomorrow, next week, next year...that's gonna be the same until they change or we make them.

And if it doesn't...and there's no real love for the place or desire for quality...I'll get bored or you can ignore me - which was always your right.

This being a discussion forum means we can discuss and anyone who has an account is open to discussing the issue. I am in High School, I spend a vast majority of my day when I am not doing school work on here because its what I enjoy. I only know the Disney of 1999 and after. My dream is to work for disney in some way some day. I do not intentionally try to drown or single anyone out. I try to use facts that I know to back up what I am saying. I visit several different Disney sites throughout the day trying to find information. Right now there is nothing that says a frozen meal will or will not happen. I also like to point out that changing Norway to Arrendale is not part of the Epcot vision. The budget that is rumored based on what i have read is 75-100 million for the attraction. Tokyo is spending 450 million on theirs just to put that in perspective. I don't see disney just failing out of existence or something, I also don't want them too. I truly enjoy my trips and thats why I keep going back. My main goal on this board to report news and rumors that i know are credible and back them up with facts like I did in the carsland thread.

It might be tiring to hear the same arguments over and over again but personal attacks are against the rules here. Or so I thought anyway.

As for the actual topic, there is no news about a Frozen character meal. There just isn't so I guess that answers the original question. I bet that one will pop up there or somewhere though.

Honestly, reading through these posts just makes me tired. Rteez and lockedoutlogic, it's very obvious that you both are very passionate about Disney, I love all the posts on the news thread! However, you both seem to fail to realize everyone else on the Dis is just as passionate, that's why we're here. Just because we have different view points doesn't make us wrong. It doesn't make you wrong either, it just makes our opinions different. What I think previous posters are trying to say is that we've heard this argument on the Dis over and over and over, and it really doesn't need to be brought up every time a related topic pops up. When I see you guys post on other threads I usually just skim past because I know exactly what you're going to say and I find that sad. With all of your knowledge I'm sure you two have plenty to say, we just wish it was something new and about the questions and topics at hand.

Now that we've killed any further potential discussions this thread could have had, I wish you all a magical day.

I respect your opinion...just not sure what there is to say?

It certainly went off the rails...my fault...but the only answers to the original question boils down to "maybe...we don't know"

Thank you. I will try to tweak my future posts to be more informative as I try to be. I don't want to be negative that's not my goal. I think one of the problems right now is there isn't a lot of news to talk about that is worth long discussions. I love reporting what I know and learn and will continue to do so. This is definitely construction criticism that I will use to try and improve.

What's wrong with Askerhus? It's a good restaurant. ...and now it has good traffic BECAUSE of the princess meal. It's a great looking room, and usually has more "A list" princesses than CRT. That's what I've seen, anyway.

I agree that putting Frozen in Norway might not be exactly what I'd like, but it's not THAT big of a deal. ...and my daughter loves the idea. :love:pixiedust:

We thought Akershus was pretty good when we were there last year. I mean, I've had a better breakfast, but as far as in park breakfast food it was pretty good. The kids liked the Princesses, we liked the architecture. My husband actually enjoyed it due to the cold buffet plus family style hot food. Most people really don't want to eat lutefisk, right?
