Character meal question with 2 yo Ds

DS loves Mickey and the gang and also Pooh and his friends. We wanted to do Chef Mickey's our first night in but dinner is too expensive. Is there another meal we should do? Right now I have a breakfast sched. at Chef Mickey's on our day off (wed), but I really wanted to do something our 1st day. The day we arrive we are not going into the parks but the next day we will be at Epcot in the morning and MK at night. Thanks!

The character meals are all about the same prices for dinner. The only thing I could suggest to you would be to go to Ft. Wilderness and do the campfire and the movie. It's free and I think Chip and Dale are usually there, but I could be wrong about that one. I'll double check. At least this way, you could see how he is going to react and it's a fun and did I mention FREE thing to do at Disney.

Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and Eeyore are at the Crystal Palace in Magic Kingdom.
This is a buffet also, and they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. We had breakfast and thought the food was very good, as well as good character interaction. I'm not sure about the price though.
