Character magic bands

So I loved the Star Wars magic bands they offered during the last part of SWW and now they have the Frozen MB's...are the Star Wars MB's still available anywhere? Are any other characters available in the parks yet for purchase?

Star Wars Bands where A limited edition and I think they sold out durring Star Wars Weekend.

No other characters... YET. When they announced MB 2 years ago, they had some concept art showing Woody and Buzz, and Mickey Minnine and some Princess ones.

Assume that they are in the pipeline.

They were advertised as Limited Edition Collector items. I would not expect to see those any time soon. Maybe Vader and Yoda ones later but not those that make the special sounds when you use them.

The SW MagicBands did not sell out during SWW and continued to be on sale in DHS. Not sure if they removed them because of the Frozen event. You may want to see if ethanwa, the DISer who collects MBs, knows anything more. He has a thread for MB collectors.

I was there on Monday July 7th and was able to get a Yoda Star Wars Magic Band! It looked like they still have several of these left in the drawer if anyone is interested.

Thank you both!! I will ask about them at DHS when we go in November! They may be gone by then or they may be a permanent offering...who knows by then! Either way I'm glad to hear they are still be sold past SWW

How do the Limited Bands work? If Disney sends you solid color bands in the mail and you want a special edition, do you have to take your old bands to the front desk and have them reprogram the Limited Edition Band? Or are they available for purchase on MDE before they send them to you?

No. You purchase a limited band in the park and when you purchase the band, they link it to your MDX account right there in the store. You can then use that band, or you can use your old solid color band because it will still be active.
