Does anyone have any recommendations for lunches with Characters. I know breakfast is the hot choice for character meals but our hotel includes free breakfast sooo....might as well save the money and use it on more treats in the parks!? We have 2 boys 4yr and 8yr. old so Cinderella isn't really a popular choice for them. Thanks

My boys (and girls) love the Garden Grill. The characters are Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Chip & Dale. The food is served family style and is all you can eat. They have salad with ranch dressing, sunflower seed bread, flank steak, catfish fingers, macaroni & cheese, mashed potatoes (I think) and dessert. The dessert for kids is worm in dirt.

Also, with APs you get a small discounts (10%).

Our kids enjoyed the Crystal Palace character lunch with Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and Eeyore. :D

Garden Grill or Crystal Palace. What characters does you children like?

Well, never fear, there are no princess character lunches!

Actually there are 3 character lunches:

Crystal Palace in the MK that features Pooh and friends, and is served buffet style. This one seems somewhat rushed, and is our least favorite.

Garden Grille in Epcot that features farmer Mickey, farmer Pluto, farmer Chip and Dale, and sometimes farmer Minnie. It is served family style to your table. We liked this one. It was quieter than any of the others to which we have been. DD was enthralled by the revolving dining room and the fact that you could see the Listen To the Land ride from the 1st tier. Don't worry, I have never seen anyone get nauseous from the dining room revolving. It is so slow, it is barely noticable.

Hollywood and Vine in MGM, featuring 1940's style Goofy, Minnie, Chip and Dale and Pluto. This is by far, our favorite of the lunches. It is served buffet style, and the food was really good. This one allows the kids to blow off a little more steam than the others, in that the characters swing dance, and the kids can join in. The characters here don't appear to be rushed, and seemed to make their way to the tables more often. Also, when the dancing starts, everyone joins in, even the kitchen castmembers, by banging their pots with spoons. It can be loud, but it is definitely a kid's dream come true!~

Here's another vote for Hollywood and Vine. I went there last month, and the food was awesome. They had a great selection, especially in the salad area--I loved the southwestern ceasar salad.

I found that the characters were a lot more playful at this lunch than at most other character meals I went to, and it was a lot of fun to watch Goofy and Minnie swing dance.

I made reservations for Hollywood and Vine for lunch at 12:30, breakfast at Restaurantosaurus for 8:30, and lunch at Garden Grille for 12:40; I hope to make lunch reservations for crystal palace but have to wait til 1/20 to make that. I have to agree with many threads I have read. Being a mother of two boys the themes are a bit disappointment. How about a Buzz and Woody Meal the kids (girls and boys) would eat that up. Captain Hook too. My kids don't even know who Chip and Dale are and these two seem to be at every meal.

Anyways, if any one has any warnings or words of wisdom about the reservation we have 3/18-22 I would appreciate the input.

Well you picked my favorites .... Donald's, H&V and CP.
One little tip... at the omlete station at Donald's they will usually also fix fried eggs if you ask. DH doesn't care for scrambled, and had no problem getting 2 eggs over easy. There is a chicken pasta at CP that is wonderful.

No one has mentioned Chef Mickey's, but they do a character lunch as well.

First, I believe that Chef Mickey's only has breakfast and dinner...no lunch.
Second, although we did not have lunch at Hollywood and Vine, the breakfast was great and the atmosphere super. When Goofy and Minnie start dancing the whole restaurant runs over to watch. It is really a great show. Can't wait to go back!

Nope no character lunch at CM's, or any other resort. All the lunches are inside the parks. however there is the Alice in Wonderland Tea Party at GF. this is for kids only.

We tried Hollywood & Vine during out last (July) trip to the World, so here is my warning: if you see any of those misting fans floating around, keep an eye on Dale. He's a wicked shot!

Other than that . . . I hope you'll be pleasantly surprised with H&V. You sound like you're not really too excited about it. When we were there, we saw quite a few families who had boys around the ages of yours. Everyone seemed to be having a blast, boys, girls, young, and old. Everyone got a lot of attention from the characters, and all of the characters were real cut-ups. Good luck!
