My DH and DS's aren't all that excited about M&Gs, but I am and I know they'll do it with me, so I would like to make any time we wait in line really worth it. What have any of you said/done that really made that time fun/special? TIA!

I generally don't like to shamelessly plug another service, but @kennythepirate 's Character Locator is perfect for this. He gives you where the characters are located and when they'll be there. He even gives you a few good questions and phrases to help interact!

Other than that, watch the movies and shows the characters are in, and ask questions about the movies, or find catchphrases and say them back.

My favorite interaction was when I asked Anna if she could beat Elsa in a snowball fight. I actually had Elsa quip from across the room on how she'd totally win!

Edit: a letter

Take them to town square Mickey. We skipped it 9 out of 10 trips because the line is always long until I read that Mickey talks. My wife hates disney and even she was impressed.

If your family is familiar with The Force Awakens, see Kylo Ren at Hollywood Studios. My interaction with him was dull, but many people have reported that it was anything but. Make some comments based on the movie and see what happens.

I made a shirt just for that meet.... Kylo Ren is my favorite- said no one ever :)
I was thinking of wearing a Han Solo shirt.

Our interaction with Kylo Ren was subdued. I am sure it was because my grandson was totally scared! Chewbacca was much friendlier. The area with the Star Wars M&G was fun to walk around. Tatooine and Storm Troopers patrolled the area. I called my grandson over to take a picture with a ST and the ST told me, forcefully, "no pictures allowed"!! My grandson thought it was great that I "got in trouble". Initiate the conversation. I once had a M&G with Minnie and pointed to my rings and asked where hers was. She shook her head, grabbed my hand and we walked over to Mickey, who was meeting in the same area. She pointed to my hand and then to hers. Mickey feigned embarrassment and then gave her a hug! Great interaction for me and fun for others to witness.

Gaston is a great character to meet! He meets in New Fantasyland, back by his tavern. He challenged my brother (21y/o) to an arm wrestling contest, of which my brother lost. We still laugh about that to this day.
