Character Interaction Stories

Hello all,
I was just wondering if anyone had any great character interactions stories.

I know if you ask Ariel for her "dinglehopper" she sometimes has a fork with her (like in the movie)

I know Mary Poppins can say saupercalifragilistic... etc. backwards.

I was just wondering if anyone else had any great character encounter stories.

I have a few, just as examples, probably not as prepped as the ones above, but the characters know their characters well, for instance:

I went with a friend who made it a point to pose with Captain Hook and loudly say "Tick Tock, Tick Tock" and Hook, of course, jumped and began to look for the crocodile.... and then "realized" it was my esteemed associate and playfully shook his hook at her.

On another case, the friend posed with Prince John from Robin Hood and sucked her thumb and pulled on her ear... and he crossed his arms and looked rather upset... it was a great picture.

MY experience came when my wife asked me to go get Jafar's autograph... and he was a typical villian... being in my mid twenties, he looked me up and down and then just glared at me for a moment. I held out the autograph book and he just looked at me. So, I, figuring itwas a game, got down on my knee and said "Oh great Jafar, please honor me with your signature." The CM and my wife died laughing, but I got the autograph and a rather funny picture.

So, yeah... almost 30... still pose with the characters... maturity never was my strong suit.
Anyway, just wondered if anyone else had any funny or touching encounters... still prepping for my trip with the in laws and my first trip with kids... other than myself...

Any stories would be great to hear.

Take care,
J.

For our first trip, my kids had made an autograph book with hand-drawn pictures of the characters they were hoping to get autographs from. They got a lot of attention from the characters who were so complimentary of the drawings. They went for the meet and greet with Woody and Jessie and Woody took a look at his picture and made a great big deal about it and the handed it over to Jessie who discovered that the boys hadn't drawn a picture of her. Well, she played it up and stomped around and acted all upset that her picture was missing and when they finally did take the picture she covered up one of the boys faces with her hands. So we have a great picture of the boys with Woody looking very proud and Jessie covering up one the boys' eyes.

That same trip, my daughter took the autograph book to CRT and the princesses made an equally big deal about it. In fact, while Belle was looking at the book she called over Snow White and the 2 of them ooed and aahed over the different pictures, flipping through the entire book. My daughter just stood there in awe of the whole thing. I have a couple great pictures of the princesses flipping through the pages of the autograph book with great expressions on their faces.

Also on that trip, another DS took the book up to Aladdin who noticed that my son had left out his red hat on the drawing in the autograph book. Aladdin made sure to draw it on himself before he signed the autograph book.

Obviously, we got a lot of mileage out of that autograph book and the kids still talk about the attention they got.

I have to say, I love that the villains are so in character. My DS who was 3 at the time would only take a picture of Malificent (sp?) from far away because he did not have the courage to go up to her. So, we have a great picture of Malificent talking to some other kid:lmao:

Now thats a great story! I may be getting older, but I was late to arrive to the Disney scene, and its stories like that that keep me going back! Glad your kids had such a great time! Very creative of them, too!
Thanks,
J.

On Christmas Day 2006 we ate dinner at 1900 Park Fare. That day it rained almost all day. We spent the day in the arcade of the Contemporary. My DD - 3 won a bunch of tickets that afternoon. She traded them in for this tiny tiny princess ceramic tea set. She had a plan...when she sees Cinderella at dinner, she was going to have a tea party with her.

I didn't want to discourage my daughter...but never in a million years did I think Cinderella would actually have a tea party with Emma.

Emma spots Cinderella and waits for her to come to our table. The tea set was already out. She comes over and Emma asks if she would like some tea. Sure enough, Cinderella spent about 5 extra minutes with Emma having a tea party. It was magic on Christmas Day. Emma still talks about it whenever she plays with her tea set.

*******

Christmas Eve my daughter is dressed in her Cinderella dress b/c we were going to have dinner at the Castle. Our reservations were late ~ 9:30 at night. Which is what happens when you call about 6 weeks before you leave.

It was our turn to visit with Cinderella. Emma had a great time talking to her. Our time was up...but the fire works were starting so everyone rushed out to see them, except us. Emma doesn't like the loud noise.

So we stayed and had a one on one with Cinderella. Emma had a fantastic time. We talked to her the entire time the fireworks were going off. No one else was around. It was a fantastic Christmas and Christmas eve for us.

My dd's autograph book is actually a small scrapbook that I add to for each trip. Her first trip was in August '05 and after getting all our autographs, I decorated each page spread with the picture of us with that character and other decorations. Anyway, fast forward to our Disney cruise last January. There was a princess autograph session and I asked each character to please turn the page after signing so I had a 2 page spread available for later. When I explained to Mulan and Peter Pan that this was actually a scrapbook they turned the book back to the beginning and looked through all the other pages from our previous trip. I have a great picture of them looking at it. I thought that was cool. What higher praise is there then having the characters appreciate your scrapbook?

We have always enjoyed the Queen of Hearts, for one trip my DD rushed up to have her picture taken and autograph book signed, the Queen kept dusting off her hands and dress each time my DD got near. We so enjoyed it and had a great laugh.
We too have always found Capt Hook to be a good sport. Once I mentioned the crocodile and he came after me with his hook while I was trying to take the picture.
We have asked for single pictures of just Jesse instead of the group picture and we hurt Woody's feelings. He pretended to sit in the corner and sulk
Our youngest was asleep in her stroller and Peter Pan and Wendy insisted on taking pics with her while Wendy told a story so they could all sleep. It is such a cute picture everyone with their heads laid over sleeping around DD.
There are lots, most just by acting along with the character in character
We always approach the characters with comments from their story.....I think you will most always get a more magical experience.

here's a few more........

bark when you see Cruella

tell the Evil Queen she is pretty, you will get a very hauty look

we saw Tom and Huck in DLR (when it was still Tom Sawyer Island) and since Huck can't write, he grabbed some dirt and rubbed DD autograph book...she was only 4 at the time and not happy that he got her book dirty.

DD also had a wonderful time at Cinderella/Prince Charming dinner in 05, was all decked out in her cindy finery and when PC came up to us he bowed, kissed her hand and asked for a dance, to say the least DD was over the moon.

While we were waiting in line, Jafar did all kinds of things to the autograph seekers. When my girls approached him, he posed them next to him nicely and as we were ready to take the picture, he reached down and flipped up the brims of their baseball hats. They were laughing hysterically and it made the cutest picture.

Here's some more:

Snow White gives little girls nice big kiss marks on their foreheads.

At 1900 Park Fare, the Mad Hatter will steal the tea off your table.

Pinocchio and Gepeto like to pull little girls' braids :)

Stitch will play ball with you if you see him in Tomorrowland.

Wear a pirate shirt around Peter Pan and Wendy and you'll get a lecture about joining a band of pirates.

Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum pulled my girls pig tails up in their picture. The girls were not happy, but it looks so cute.
At the princess dinner in Norway, my little one spilled her drink. Ariel was nearby, took both of my girls to get a rag to clean it up and told them that she doesn't mind getting a little wet since she's a mermaid.
My older girl drew a picture for Pocohontas with a note about how brave she is. Pocohontas read the note right there and told my girls a story about being brave. It was actually time for her break, but she spent at least 5 minutes with the girls.

We had 2 great moments on our trip last spring. The first was when DD6 met Ariel. DD had her hair in 2 piggy tails with these ping pong size fuzzy pink ponytail holders. Ariel went on and on about the sea anemones in DD's hair. DD just loved this as Ariel said how happy she was that DD wore them just for her. Our 2nd great moment was at Epcot w/Jasmine & Ariel. DD had gotten a carnation at the Flower & Garden Show and I had tucked it into one of her piggy tails. Well, Aladin said that she needed one for her other piggy tail and then he climbed over a little fence & picked a marigold & tucked it into her hair. I just about died it was so precious. It is by far my favorite memory of Disney.

We have had a couple of cool character interactions. One was when we were getting out of the autograph line in France for Belle and the Beast. As soon as we got out of line Princess Aurora walked up and held out her hand for the 2 of my children that were in line with me. ( the other two were in the batroom-you snooze you loses LOL) She walked hand in hand with them through France just chattering away. They LOVED it! I also have a cute photo that I took from behind as they were walking. The second cool thing that happened was last year on our trip. We were in line for Jasmine and Aladdin with all of the kids and the line was going pretty fast. When we got to our turn they seriously spent 4 or 5 min talking to the kids and asking them questions, like what land they came from. Both characters were trying to get my youngest to pay more attention to them but DS was pretty won over by Jasmine's good looks much to porr Aladdin's chagrin! We have some pretty cute pics of that too. My DS STILL says that Jasmine is his girlfriend, LOL!:thumbsup2 :rotfl2: Last year we were also picked to help Mickey open up the MK. THAT WAS SUPER COOL! We have a pic of all of us with like 15 characters! They spent quite a long time playing with the kids before we had to get on the train from Toon town to the front of the park! Stictch wouldn't let go of one of my children- he must've thought that one was cute or something! Oh, and my children still talk about how Pluto kept getting in trouble for putting his head out of the window on the train. They think that he is the funniest, silliest dog EVER. I wish that I knew how to post pictures. I could put a couple up that were so cute!

I just love these stories!! Our best stories are not from Disney, but from Sesame Place. We have the passports that allow a special meet and greet with all of the characters. We went on my dd's second birthday and got a photo of her will all of the characters together. We've done the meet and greet many many times (we are only an hour away), and this has only happened once and it was on her bday.

Once, she was wearing a hat and Ernie took it and put it on his head and she thought it was hysterical. When there aren't any kids lined up for the characters during the slower months, the characters will often play together.

Last October, Mikayla dressed up as Abby Cadaby and all of the characters were so excited. Ernie pretended he was Abby Cadaby and flapped his arms like wings. Abby Cadaby was thrilled. She spent quite a while with her. There weren't any commercially made Abby costumes yet, so that was a big hit. She let her use her wand.

We have also gotten to meet Bob, Maria and Miles and Gabby (you know the humans on the show). Miles and Gabby spent a good long time posing with us and chatting. They even get down and dance with the kids during their performance.
