2027 Member Cruise

We have never done a Members cruise and when I initially saw the cost I’m like hey that’s not a bad deal. Then I realized it was per person and thought they have lost their minds. It’s more expensive than a cruise in December on the Treasure. So much for valuing members that bought direct. Here I’m thinking they would give a descent deal. Guess not lol. Hard hard pass for us.

The cost is somewhat more than I thought it might be, but we’re still considering it vs. a much more expensive and longer non-DCL cruise in Europe. The lure of the Disney Family Museum, with probably something special just for this cruise, and maybe something involving the Pixar headquarters across the bay, is strong for us. Having read reports of previous member cruises, I know we’d be paying for much more than we’d get with a normal cruise.

If only that agenda for activities would be out in time for making a decision… price would be worth it if they truly come with custom/Disney/curated experiences…

But reading recent AbD trip reports I doubt it :(

This is much higher than I expected and significantly higher than I had hoped. I am sure a big part of that is the fact it is a smaller boat with less total members to share the costs associated with the special guests and experiences.

However, the FOMO is strong! So, I will most likely book on Saturday. If I only take one DCL cruise a year, the MC is a good one to pick!

The 120 day cancellation policy still applies, correct?

Well, this line from the Itinerary section on the member website is still calling to me!

As an added bonus, Disney Vacation Club is collaborating with Disney Cruise Line to create custom Port Adventures for our sailing’s 2-day stop in San Francisco, with insider access to Disney-connected places in and around “The City by the Bay.”

So we might, or we might not.

Same here. This line has me with lots of FOMO. Also, have never been to the Disney Family Museum anyway.

We are booked on this year's MC and the 2027 one is almost $1K more than that one for the same category, so I don't like that... still, we're going to book it. Luckily we don't need verandahs, lol

I am soo hoping this week!! I am soo impatient... lol..

The Disney Family Museum is amazing.

The big thing with this cruise, and why we are most interested is the fact that 2027 will be the 50th anniversary of Star Wars. And two days in San Francisco and custom port adventures. Maybe Lucasfilm? And being on the west coast, some really great opportunities for special guest. It will be worth the $7k gamble.

$8K gamble for us because we do need a window. But agreed! Small saving grace: gratuities are included

Stop it! Now my FOMO is kicking in.

The exclusive port adventures sound like they could be great, especially for people like us who like don't care about beaches. I can only hope they can accommodate all those who want to sign up for these and do not limit space. That would be the bigger gamble to me.

We have airline miles we could use towards airfare coming from the east coast. Maybe I'll book anyway. We did get the $300 GC after signing up for the Chase Disney Inspire card, and I believe the cost will give us a $300 statement credit.

OMG, I had no idea about that. Much more FOMO now.
My Disney math reminded that since I live on the west coast I will save both time and money pre/post cruise. No long expensive flights and no need for extra nights in a hotel or train/private transfers to the port.
Yes, that’s weighing in tremendously on our Member Cruise vs. Europe decision. We want Business Class lie-flat seats on the way to Europe, and they’re much more expensive than First Class between Texas and California.

oooh, if they invite Mark Hamill and Pedro Pascal to the cruise I will be so jealous of those going on.
