I'm trying to track down a dress for my daughter via ebay. Has anyone ordered on there and/or recommend a seller? I'd like to avoid the cheaper ones that I buy regularly and go with something better for our September trip to Magic Kingdom and Bibbidy Bobbidy Boutique.

I know they're more expensive, but the dresses at the Disney Stores are much better quality then you'll find at Walmart or (likely) Ebay. My DD3 will rarely wear anything but a disney dress, even when she's playing in the mud (our neighbour has dubbed her Princess Mudcake).

** EDIT ** There are some people on Ebay that make Disney dresses, Fish Extenders, etc and those look like they're actually really well done. But if you're going for the generic, mass manufactured Disney stuff, prepare for low quality.

I have to agree.

I took my then 7yo to see the Lion King on Bway. Since it was halloween I let her wear the Belle dress that we picked up at Disney in 2007. Several people stopped me to ask where I'd gotten the dress.

check out costco, they have a huge assort of disney halloween/play dresses $19.00

Thanks for the info .. so much to figure out so little time but people on here sure make it easier(;

Have you checked etsy.com... I've ordered from there before. Also, I'm not sure how old your daughter is, but although I do think disney store dresses are better quailty, I'm all in favor of the cheap route of Walmart or the like. I'm sure they will be having many costumes coming out very soon with the Halloween things.

I just want a high quality dress that won't fall apart, tear, or itch her like mad all day. We'll be doing the whole BBB, princess castle lunch, and MK that day and I'd like her to be comfortable.

I've never seen that homemade site .. thanks for the heads-up(:

Absolutely right. Walmart, BJs, and Target have them, but they're a much lower quality - cheaper build, visible chain stitching, thinner fabrics, velcro closures. We brought one of those to Disney and it was tattered by the end of the night. They're okay for playing, but the Disney ones are much nicer and made better, so they'll certainly last longer.

I'd definitely recommend buying from somebody on Etsy. They will custom make you what you want and they will make it out of a beautiful calico. That will be much cooler and not itchy at all. She will look and feel like a princess. A nice bonus is that if you buy a dress from somebody on Etsy, she can probably wear it as a regular dress too, not just for dressing up.

Sounds like I'm making a drive out to the Disney Store tomorrow(; I'm in the metro Detroit area and can't believe I have to drive so far to find one. I'm not really a mall guy but I thought I remembered many more of them around?
